We are officially halfway through the year. While many will be celebrating America’s 250th anniversary this weekend, Callaway is reminding golfers that one major championship still remains on the calendar. Rounding out the 2026 Chrome Tour Major Series, Callaway has unveiled the new Chrome Tour July Major golf balls.
This year’s Open Championship will be played at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, Merseyside, England. Widely recognized as one of the toughest venues in The Open rotation, Royal Birkdale is famous for fairways that weave through towering sand dunes and demand precision from the world’s best players.
If you’re a golf fan, chances are you remember a couple of unforgettable moments from the 2017 Open Championship. The first was eventual champion Jordan Spieth hitting a tee shot so far off line it took nearly 20 minutes before he ultimately declared an unplayable lie. Even more memorable, though, was the incredible 50-foot eagle putt he holed before famously telling his caddie, “Go get that.”
Chrome Tour July Major Designs

This time around, the packaging takes on a more refined look rather than the bold, playful themes seen in some previous releases. The image of the golf hole has the appearance of a classic painting, making the box feel more like a piece of artwork than simple golf ball packaging. Once again, it’s the type of presentation that should stand out on store shelves and may even appeal to collectors.
Like the April, May and June Major Series releases, the July Major golf balls feature artwork inspired by the host region and local culture. The golf balls themselves feature four unique designs: a bird, rose, fish & chips and a crown, all things inspired by the region.

2026 Chrome Tour Performance
As with every other Major Series release, these balls are built on the 2026 Chrome Tour platform.
Each golf ball features Callaway’s Tour Fast Mantle, Advanced Seamless Aero package and Tour-level urethane cover, delivering the same premium performance golfers expect from the Chrome Tour while adding limited-edition graphics that are sure to stand out on the course.
Pricing and Availability
The Chrome Tour July Major golf balls are priced at $59.99/dozen and will be available online and at retailers today July 3, 2026.

These are awesome and I can’t wait for The Open!!!!
These are well done. Th box artwork is top notch.
These Major Series balls are so good.
Pretty neat design here.
The box art is very cool. Not really a fan of the ball art personally
I think I am more fond of the boxes these releases come in than the actual ball themselves. Well done all the way around though.
The box art is killer. I always enjoy these just wish more were in the X version.
These are super cool! Callaway is doing an awesome job as always with their limited releases!
Agree they've really stepped up the on shelf presentation with the box art. Now it's time to get away from the Microsoft clip art look on the balls themselves
I haven’t been a huge fan of the designs this year. Not sure why. They aren’t bad, they just don’t make me want/need them.
Wow, the box artwork is so good.
The balls are good. The box is spectacular.

The little logos on the ball have always been kinda of clip art-esque, but I would imagine its hard to get something more detailed or fancier printed/painted/labeled/put on the balls.

There are ways to do it better though. And they’ve done it before.

To me, that doesn’t look like clipart that looks like a good and unique design
The rose and the crown look pretty cool. Box looks really good. Callaway stepping up their box game is legit.
I like these a lot.
Help me out here – I see the French fries aka chips, where is the fish?
Those are pretty slick.

I see an upside down fish in the basket. Kind of looks like a goldfish cracker

I agree on both counts, the box art really does make a difference in the presentation. That being said I’ve been playing the some of the limited edition balls that are just Chrome Tour and having pretty good success.

Yeah, I also get Chrome Tour is probably played by more people than the X. Same with the limited shafts mainly being in the Blue Profile, more players fit into the blues.
I like these but they don’t send me thoughts of buying them.
