Callaway Quantum Max Hybrid

Callaway Quantum Max Hybrids: Max, Max OS, and Max Fast

The hybrid is at a unique crossroads right now, at least as far as golf equipment’s never-ending carousel of trends is concerned. Once considered one of the biggest breakthroughs in years, making life easier for golfers who struggle with the demands of long irons, it also nearly swept higher-lofted fairway woods into irrelevance.

Since then, the tides have shifted. Over the past couple of years, high-lofted fairway woods have surged again, not only among amateurs, but on Tour as well. That shouldn’t be viewed as a sign the hybrid no longer has a home. It simply means the category needs to keep evolving, and no one has done a better job of pushing hybrid design forward than Callaway Golf.

While Callaway’s Super Hybrid and UW concepts have grabbed most of the attention in recent seasons, the brand remains a market leader well beyond those two designs. For 2026, Callaway is making sure its core hybrid offerings round out the Quantum lineup with options built to fit just about every golfer and setup.

Quantum From the Inside Out

The best place to start is the next evolution of a technology that proved to be a legitimate breakthrough for both fairways and hybrids in 2025: Speed Wave.

Callaway Speed Wave 2.0

While Elyte delivered the kind of performance that turned heads, Quantum brings Speed Wave 2.0. Across all three models, tungsten remains positioned low and forward to drive ball speed. The key change is a re-engineered structure that produces more face flex, boosting energy transfer while significantly improving speed retention low on the face.

Quantum Max Hybrid

Step Sole also gets an update, even if Callaway isn’t calling it “2.0” officially. Leveraging the brand’s supercomputer-driven development processes, the company landed on a new sole shaping designed to add stability through the turf and at the impact zone by reducing the heel’s influence. The result is more control and accuracy, along with a face that stays squarer through impact more consistently.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a Callaway release without the next generation of its Ai-optimized face design. Each model, and each loft within those models, features its own unique face architecture, tuned to optimize speed, spin, and launch, while improving playability where golfers need it most: on common misses.

To complement that, every model features more refined heel-toe weighting intended to reduce twisting on lateral strikes for subtle shape correction. And for the first time across the full hybrid lineup, every Quantum hybrid includes the OptiFit4 hosel adapter, allowing golfers to dial in launch, spin, and shot shape whether these clubs are paired with the Quantum irons or built into a mixed set.

From there, each model adds its own personality and fit, so let’s break them down.

Callaway Quantum Max Hybrid

As with the drivers and fairways, the Quantum Max Hybrid is the core option in the lineup. Callaway describes it as a midsized hybrid built for balanced performance from the turf, off the tee, and everywhere in between.

Despite the “midsize” label, the shaping is among Callaway’s cleanest in a core release, pairing a neutral CG placement with moderate face depth. It’s designed to be the most versatile of the three models.

The Quantum Max Hybrid will be offered in 3H through 8H (19°, 21°, 24°, 27°, 30°, 33°), with full OptiFit4 adjustability in each. Left-handed models will be available in 3H, 4H, and 5H.

Stock shafts:

  • True Temper Denali Frost Silver (60 – R, 70 – S)
  • Mitsubishi Chemical Vanquish (50 – R2)
  • Mitsubishi Chemical Eldio (40 – WMN)

Callaway Quantum Max OS Hybrid

When “Max” and “OS” show up together, you know exactly what’s coming. This is the oversized option in the Quantum hybrid family—built around high MOI, more confidence-inspiring shaping, and a clear draw bias.

The Max OS also features a shallower face depth to promote easier launch off the turf, making it the most forgiving and help-oriented model of the trio.

The Quantum Max OS Hybrid will be offered in 3H through 8H (18°, 20°, 23°, 26°, 29°, 32°). Left-handed models will be available in 3H, 4H, and 5H.

Stock shafts:

  • True Temper Denali Frost Silver (60 – R, 70 – S)
  • Mitsubishi Chemical Vanquish (50 – R2)

Callaway Quantum Max Fast Hybrid

Finally, the Max Fast arrives in hybrid form, and like the fairways, it underscores Callaway’s understanding that a massive segment of golfers benefits from lighter, easier-to-swing setups.

The mission here is simple: make the club easier to launch and easier to control by trimming weight throughout the build. The Max Fast features a shallow face and a slightly larger footprint to maximize stability and promote higher launch.

The Quantum Max Fast Hybrid will be offered in 4H through 8H (22°, 25°, 28°, 31°, 34°), with all clubheads available right-hand only. Every model includes the OptiFit4 system.

Stock shafts:

  • Mitsubishi Chemical Vanquish (50 – R2)
  • Mitsubishi Chemical Eldio (40 – WMN)

The Details

While the wind may be blowing in a different direction for the moment, hybrids are not going anywhere, certainly not under Callaway’s watch. The Quantum Max hybrid family is designed to cover three distinct player profiles while still offering meaningful adjustability and fine-tuning across the board.

All three models will hit retail on February 13, 2026. Pricing for the Quantum Max and Max OS is $349.99, while the Max Fast will be $379.99.
