Following up a huge hit is not always an easy thing to do. Callaway’s current driver, the Epic was a runaway success in 2017 becoming the number one selling driver, and then keeping that title every single month of the year. Enter Rogue, and based on early feedback, the company might have more Rocky 2 on its hands, than that of Rocky 5. Before continuing on, it’s important to note that Rogue is not necessarily taking the place of the EPIC line of metal woods, but offering a new release with some very interesting technologies.
Before getting into the reviews from golfers who have been putting this in play already, here is Dave Neville, Senior Director of Brand Management at Callaway Golf, giving the lowdown on what we are looking at in each of the three models in this THP TV exclusive New Gear Alert.

Coming out of this, the biggest questions that you are asking right now are is it longer than the Epic and is it more forgiving than the Epic? Rather than give you our synopsis, we have 12 THP Forum members that have had these drivers in play for the last month and their reviews begin being posted today on the THP Forum here.
We have a lot more coming up about this lineup, so stay tuned for details.

Nice video Josh.
Hitting all the buttons with this release. Hourglass jailbreak and 8600 MOI sounds like a winner.
Adding the draw head is great – didn’t know moving the sliding weight changes the MOI
Very informative video, with a nice clear explanation of the difference between each model.
These are nice looking drivers, and it seems Callaway has done a good job iterating on the Epic lineup and filling in a gap with the draw model. Higher MOI and better clubhead speed should makes these a solid option.
These I’m really excited for. I love my XR16, and have been really, really impressed by the Epic every time I’ve swung it. These look like they’re a nice step forward in tech. I know the lucky guys who were out in CA last month have been raving.
Very informative and easy to understand video. Increasing forgiveness and ball speed over Epic was a tall order.
Very excited to hit these. Love the thoughts behind them!
Looking forward to everyone’s thoughts. I am wanting to hear more about the new Subzero model. Great stock shaft options
Am I leaving yards on the table with the Epic vs the Rogue?
Wow, it’s hard to believe the tech from the Epic could be improved upon. But it seems the crew at Callaway did just that. More forgiveness, high high end shaft options (stock) and draw bias without a hook face and no loss of MOI!! Based on the video alone, I want to game this driver.
Thanks for that video. Dave nailed it and really breaks down each driver. Raising the MOi isnpretty impressive and the Boeing collaboration cannot be emphasized as well. Rouge Draw has my attention for sure.
DNevs killing it as usual with the tech explanation. I like the changes that have been made to the face and it’s good Callaway is improving upon jailbreak spacing out the rods.
Really like the aesthetics/color scheme on the Rogue over the Epic.
Interesting! Very curious to see what the Grandaddy participants say as they compare the Rogue to last year’s Epic.
Was hoping the XR16 and EPIC produced superpowered offspring. Excited to try them out!
Loved the video. DNevs breaks the tech down so good its crazy. Looking forward to the Rogue. Just need to figure out Draw or Standard
Great video! No surprise Callaway took the time to improve on Jailbreak and the amazing driver that was the Epic. I’m excited to hear everyone’s thoughts on all 3 models.
Great video Josh and DNevs!
I’m loving this driver.
That is 5 minutes packed with power! Wonderful job by Dave explaining all the changes and what the Rogue is bringing to the table this year.
p.s. As good as Dave made it sound it’s even better on the course. -Nate
Great write up. I’m heading over to the forum now to read some first hand reviews.
That’s about the best explanation around the technology embedded within a golf club that I’ve ever heard. Thanks to Dave and the folks at Callaway for breaking it down and developing these clubs! Excited to try them out on Feb 9!
I am always a fan of the brand Callaway. I love these drivers. Thanks for introducing.
Great summary Dave! It’s hard to believe that Callaway could improve on the Epic lineup. I’m excited to try these!
Great video! Draw me up one….
Thanks!
