How many times have we heard “A Tradition Unlike Any Other” in the last few weeks? It never really gets old. We aren’t really going to wax poetic on The Masters today though. Instead, we’re going to talk about another tradition that signals the start of the golf season – the annual closet refresh. While we may not have control over our golf games on a daily basis, one aspect of the game is firmly under our control – how we look. Suiting up in a new golf outfit can sometimes be just as exciting as that first tee shot. I mean, how many times have you laid out your outfit the night before a round? Don’t lie.
Callaway Golf Apparel, powered by fashion juggernaut Perry Ellis Inc, knows that Spring is the perfect time for revitalizing your apparel lineup and they’ve drawn inspiration for their 2025 Spring Collection from the range of emotions we all go through from the first tee to the last green. They call the concept behind the line “A Day on the Golf Course”, with layering pieces that utilize colors and patterns that bring to mind feelings ranging from sweeping dew to post round cocktails.

“The Spring 2025 Collection is a testament to our commitment to innovation, performance, and style,” said Oscar Feldenkreis, CEO of Perry Ellis International. “We’ve meticulously crafted this line to not only enhance the player performance but also celebrate the joy and unpredictability of the game. Our new designs, colors, and technologies reflect our mission to provide golfers with apparel that is both functional and fashion-forward.”
Feldenkreis brings up a good point to consider when talking about Callaway Apparel. Aside from offering a slew of designs that can appeal to a wide variety of fashion tastes, the company makes clothing that is built to move in. There’s nothing quite as uncomfortable as stepping on the course in a garment that is either too restrictive or unflattering. The Spring 2025 line has even found its way to professional golf, with PGA Tour player Max Greyserman wearing items from the line during his four rounds at The Masters.
We sampled a handful of pieces from the Spring 2025 Callaway Apparel line recently. Let’s take a look at what they had to offer.
Callaway Spring Apparel – Polos
Polos are the centerpiece of the golf outfit. No other piece grabs attention as quickly and companies are quick to incorporate designs that catch the eye. At the same time, there are many of us that like a more subdued look. Callaway Apparel has managed to meet both of those needs with their Spring 2025 line.

The All Over Birdie Polo in Bright White comes in a dawn-inspired design that brings to mind the hopes and focus we feel at the start of a round. It draws inspiration from another PEI apparel line, Original Penguin, known for their “All Over” designs. While there may be more birdies on your shirt than you’ll see over the course of the season, one can always dream.
The Micro Floral Print Polo in Neptune Green suggests the unflinching vigor we feel mid-round. The sun is high in the sky, spirits are elevated, and putts are dropping. Hints of coral resemble the azaleas so many of us associate with the beginning of the season.

As the day ends and we are sitting back remembering both the good and the bad that transpired, more subdued colors seem to make the most sense. The Swing Tech Solid Polo works perfectly for a post-round Old Fashioned next to the fire. In addition, it offers an option for those that don’t gravitate towards colorful prints.

The Fit
While each of these pieces captures a different look and feeling, there is remarkable consistency in quality, feel, and fit. That’s an important point to make, because there’s nothing more disappointing than ordering a bunch of shirts from the same company that fit differently. In general, we’d characterize the Callaway Apparel Spring 2025 polos as a standard, roomy “American” fit. They sit squarely on the shoulders and offer a roomier mid-section with slightly longer sleeve lengths. If you’re between sizes and prefer a more form-fitting garment, you may consider sizing down, but everybody else should feel comfortable ordering their normal size.

The Tech
Standard Callaway Apparel technologies are present with the entire line. Swing Tech is a design feature that refines the shoulder seams to improve range of motion throughout the entire golf swing. Opti-Dri is a moisture wicking technology designed to pull perspiration from the body so that it quickly evaporates to keep you cool. Each shirt also includes UPF 50 sun protection.

The Callaway Apparel Spring 2025 polos seen above range from $60 to $80 each, offering a solid value in today’s golf apparel climate.
Callaway Spring Apparel – Layering Pieces
Those of us in Northern climates are very familiar with the need for layering items in Spring. A round that starts in the 50’s may end in the high 70’s. Finding suitable outerwear is vital, both for retaining warmth and being able to comfortably swing a golf club. Over the years, Callaway Apparel has released a number of items like hoodies, thermal pullovers, and jackets, that we still keep in the closet for these types of days.

From the Spring 2025 line we sampled the Hexagon Textured ½ Zip Base Layer Golf Top in Gray Heather. It also incorporates Swing Tech and Opti-Dri technologies to ensure you are able to swing a golf club and wick away moisture.

The Hexagon ½ Zip features two layers of fabric with double-knit seams for adding warmth. We found that it was more than suitable for rounds in the 50’s and it didn’t feel overly bulky.
At $95, the Hexagon ½ Zip is an item that can work anywhere from the golf course to the club house to the workplace. This versatile garment is a great addition to any closet.
Callaway Spring Apparel – Bottoms
Again, Spring can bring a variety of conditions from day to day, so the Callaway Apparel Spring 2025 line includes both pants and shorts to anchor your golf outfit.

The Flat Front Swing Tech pants in Quiet Shade (gray) offer a versatile option for both cool and warmer weather. Outfitted with Opti-Dri, the managed to provide the warmth we demanded at lower temps while not feeling heavy or suffocating as the day progressed. Featuring a stretch fabric with Swing Tech technology, the Flat Front Swing Tech pants weren’t restricting in any way, even while walking the golf course.
The Swing Tech Shorts are remarkably similar to the Flat Front pants in terms of feel and fit. They feature a 9” inseam, meaning they will sit at the knee or very slightly above it for most people. Those golfers looking for a reasonably priced, conservatively styled pair of shorts that offer stretch will find them a great match.

We enjoyed that our polos stayed securely tucked in thanks to the rubber Callaway and Chevron logos on the inner waistband. Other small details like the low profile back pocket and embroidered Chevron provided a clean look.

In general, these are roomier bottoms with a slightly higher hip rise. You will be able to easily fit into your normal size and will likely have a bit of room to spare around the waist. The Flat Front Swing Tech pants retail for $94 and the Swing Tech Shorts are priced at $72.

Got the all-over birdie polo as a gift recently – love the look and feel. Candidly, have never given Callaway polos a shot but I’m really digging this one!

Im intrigued by the pants and shorts in this line. I own 2 pairs of shorts that I bought last year and really liked them.
This is really well written @Hawk well done. I didn’t know Original Penguin was a PEI company too.
This shirt is killer and one I will want to grab

What I really like about Callaway Apparel is that it offers a solid value for pieces that really do perform. They have sales running all the time too.
Anybody that likes a little more midsection room will love the fit of the Spring line.

This is the exact reason why I buy Callaway Apparel “a little more midsection room”. Their clothes just perform as well. Great value at the price point!

For sure. Plenty of room and stretch in the shoulders and sleeves too.
Big fan of their layering pieces and outerwear too.

I couldn’t agree more! Have a Callaway polo on today and wear them to work several days a week.
They are solid pieces of gear. I like fit of their lineup, and have found they are consistent across the line. That’s a big deal, knowing you can order with confidence.

My middle name is a little more midsection room.
Personally, they need more colour.

Have you checked the website out? They have a TON of options, though I know you’re a special breed lol

I have and the colours are good but the prints are a bit boring for mine.
I gotta have something that distracts from my bad golf game!
Great article and wish more companies would put something in the pants/shorts to help keep the shirts tucked in. Really an understated feature and glad to see it here.
Will check them out when I see them for sure. Hope the pockets on the pants/shorts are fuller size and not too small.
I already have a few pairs of shorts and polos from last year in my closet, can’t wait to get a few of the new items as well!

Thank you @Hawk for the rundown. I need new shorts and I like the 9″ inseam on these.
I’m not big on the white with small images style, but man that blue shirt with the flowers looks awesome.
You really nailed my personal fears about sizing. I need consistency.
Also, I love a good layering piece that’s out there to do more than just add some bulk. Cutting down on wind, getting a bit of thermal going, those are the things I’m definitely looking for in the Spring and Fall for golf.
One of my biggest issues with these types of tops though, is how limiting the bottom is. There doesn’t seem to be a perfect mix of give vs hold, and often times it tends to look bunched or rolled. Curious to hear thoughts on that.

First thing I always think about the Callaway layering pieces is that they are roomy enough to 1) layer and 2) swing a golf club in. Too often you get that hoodie that squeezes around the shoulders and I hate that. They are always very warm too.
As for for the bottom, I’m a bit picky on that too. The picture in the article doesn’t really do it a ton of justice imo. It’s got a bungee, so you can tighten it up like they have it, but I think it looks and feels best a bit more relaxed than that.

This is perfect for me haha and I really do enjoy their stuff. Some of the best value I find online shopping
The one complaint I’ve had with the Callaway brand clothing over the years has been the fit and sizing compared to other brands just seemed to be completely off. In order to not appear like I was swimming in a polo, I’d have to size down every single time. It’s nice to read that they are focusing on the fit, and making sure that it stays consistent throughout the new line.
I’ve got several pairs of their pants from previous seasons that I use for work and colder days on the golf course so will definitely be checking the new line out. Thanks for the article @Hawk well done sir!

Yea, I think my description is pretty spot on.
If you like form fitting stuff, you can probably size down comfortably. Either way, very consistent from piece to piece.
I have several Callaway shirts and shorts that I like. Unfortunately (or well fortunately) I’ve lost enough weight that the shorts don’t fit anymore and I need to replace them.
Each year the Callaway collection seems to get better and better. This is by far the most interesting release and that 1/4 zip looks like it might make the collection.

I have two pair of their pants from last year that I like. Haven’t had a polo in a bit, but have enjoyed their pullovers. Appreciate the details you added to this one.

The “zero underbelly” cinch job.
I’ve got a few nice Callaway polos. I don’t like them quite as much as the Johnnie-O Featherweights, but they’re good. Only had a pair of their older 8″ shorts that I find too short, so may need to check out these 9″ instead.

Yea, I don’t see a scenario with these being too short.
I appreciate the more reasonable price point of the offerings vs. some of the other brands that charge a lot more. I will definately check out this years line.

Agree with this as well. First of all great article @Hawk. But yeah I recently lost some weight and some of my XL polos still fit but the Callaway stuff makes me look like a kid trying on his dad’s clothes. Really enjoy the fabric and materials though. All their stuff is extremely stretchy and breathes well. Will have to size down and give it another try.
I like the designs/patterns on those polos. The pants also look solid and not bad at under $100 for tech/stretch pants. The 1/4 zip is a little meh.
