Off Course is back this week with a fantastic show. Hosted by Dan Edwards each Friday he gives you a deep look into the world of golf and equipment in a way unlike any other podcast has done before. Today, Mizuno Golf’s own Chris Voshall goes Off Course to talk everything from technology to fashion.
It wouldn’t be Off Course without some tangents, but we take a deep dive into the new Mizuno M-Craft putters and iron design, as well as WITB, Fashion Trends and more. This show has a lot going on and it is an episode you will not want to miss as Chris Voshall Goes Off Course.
Episode 36 is here and Dan and his guest Chris Voshall discuss the following topics.
New M-Craft Putters
Iron Designs and New Technology
Forged vs Forged
And so much more

Several weeks in a row of just must listen to episodes as a golf equipment fan.
Excited to dive into this today.
And great pick by Chris #5, in the black finish. I could definitely do this, or the #6, in that black finish
I always love the story Chris tells on the blue wedge, and how they denied him, until they finally gave in. Remember hearing it before, and it still cracks me up!

So much cool information in this episode. From construction, to materials, to manufacturing processes, just a wealth of knowledge! The Mizuno irons have been on my list for a long time, and discussions like this do nothing but fan the flames!
His history with Mizuno, and how he started was really cool. Right place, right person, at the right time!
I agree with the sentiment. He was a great guest and it helped that he was genuinely eager to be a part of it, to share with this awesome community.
We should probably get him back on soon.
I had a Mizuno/TP Mills putter and putter with a Scotty Mizuno putter that my coach had. They were beuatiful.
Yes, I think you should..
We barely even scratched the surface on the game of golf… and some of Mizuno’s solid product offerings..
And Nike Tour Premieres…. (hi @JB)
That was one of my fav parts. That he was literally looking for them on Ebay yesterday!!.
He was wearing a pair when THP visited their performance center for videos on JPX 919. We had a great chat about them at the time because I’d just got a pair of the limited editions that had shiny soles and was glad to know someone else who actually bought a pair haha
Turns out they’ve been some of the best golf shoes I’ve ever owned.
This was funny. A friend stopped by the office to drop off some documents in a case we’re working on together. We were talking for a few minutes when he stopped and asked me why Phil Mickelson was talking about Mizuno equipment. Vosh does sound like Phil a little.
There are a pair in my size on eBay for 279…
Which is cool except there’s no shot in hell I pay that kind of money for golf shoes hahaha
i love how the @Snickerdog specials are were marked down from $2000.
haha, I’d be a fan of snick in Tour Premieres… He just needs to edit his sweats game.
Or…just more christmas tree cakes and the kankles turn sweats into joggers.
I was rocking the Hot Punch yesterday on course!!!!
#Trendsetter
With that said I’m sold on them. When I make a change, I change. On the top end I went from Ping/Titleist to Callaway, on the bottom end I went from Srixon to yes I’m going with MP20HMB!
I like to think I’m a ball guy in terms of soft and buttery with the cover and when I hear a guy like Vosh specifically call out the irons that way, sign me up!
What is Mizuno’s cycle? 2 years? The HMB’s were released September 2019, so later 2021 will there be a release?
I understand from the interview the HMB’s are going to continue to evolve, so potentially a new HMB will be released.
I can’t wait that long, I’ll be going into 2021 season in Aprilish with a new set so it looks like I’ll miss a new release.
Thank you @Canadan & Chris Voshall!
Whoa, from MBs to HMBs!! Nice choice!
Really pleased that you enjoyed!
that’s not true.
Loved the irons discussion and how intentional design is from iron to iron!
Vosh offered up a repeat performance anytime…. hope that’s penciled in soon…. such a good listen
I feel like that is a great thing hahaha
My favorite part was how they went about the putter releases… Same as they do with irons.
MP one year.
JPX the next.
Same with the putters. Forgiving bigger heads in second run.
Wholly agree! Focused and attention to improvement one release to the next so it seems!
I like the way he put it all together. Mizuno definitely has a presence out there, and their moves seem to be incredibly calculated in order to maintain that line they tow.
BTW, the more I listen the more I’m convinced you’ve somewhat missed your calling! Your questions are thoughtful and are set up with dimension, the transitions are really good… well done! Seems to come with a leisure ease that’s so natural… two dudes chatting over a beer!
Have never met Chris but seems like such a good dude and love his story of how and why he’s where he is…. I love going to PGASS on The Weeknd and just tooling around looking at and hitting equipment! I can see how he got sucked in!
I’m glad it flows well for you guys! I usually set up about 10-20 questions before my episode, along with doing some research. Last thing I want is dead space on a pod!
It’s so relatable, eh? He’s as excited about the product as we are, which is pretty awesome considering the role he is in.
I am waiting for next years THP Christmas card where everyone is wearing joggers, hoodies, and rope hats. ??
