To celebrate the RTZ 2 launch, Cleveland is offering free personalization on any new RTZ 2 during this pre-order window. What exactly does that entail? Well, let’s take a look.
Cleveland RTZ 2 Customization Options
Paintfill
When designing the perfect personalized wedge, one of the first steps is to choose a color scheme. Cleveland offers five standard paintfill locations between the back of the wedge and the hosel, with a sixth available if you opt for the Tour Rack finish. The standard areas include the Cleveland logo, the RTZ 2 logo, the loft, grind/bounce markings, the Z-Alloy on the hosel, and the Tour Rack logo. Custom engraving can also receive paintfill, creating yet another opportunity to add a splash of color. We will discuss that in more detail later.
Cleveland features an impressive palette of 20 different paint colors. Golfers can select from classic colors like black, white, blue, and red, or choose more unique shades such as metallic gold, off-white, or leather brown. A complete list of available colors is provided below.

Engraving
As a self-described golf nerd, one of the things I enjoy seeing is what the best golfers in the world have stamped on their wedges. There’s something about having one’s name or a witty phrase on the back of a wedge that takes the personalization to another level. Cleveland offers three different engraving patterns, each with its own characteristics and limitations.
Snowball: This pattern has a character limit of two and will be stamped in seven different locations across the back of the wedge. Although it uses a straight font, the stamping is slightly angled to create a random appearance.
Edge: As the name suggests, this pattern is located near the top edge of the wedge. It uses the same straight font as the Snowball pattern but without any angle, allowing up to five characters.
Toe: Located in the high-toe section, this pattern accommodates the most characters, with a limit of ten. It features the most playful stamping pattern, which Cleveland calls a “dancing font.” In this design, each letter alternates between being slanted forward and backward.
Skins
Adding a splash of color with different paint fills or opting for special engraving is a fun way to personalize a new wedge. However, one of the most exciting features of the Cleveland RTZ 2 wedges is the variety of skins available.
Earlier this year, we got a glimpse of what Cleveland had up its sleeve through its collaboration with SWAG on the High Roller RTZ Wedges. Now, with the RTZ 2, they expand their offerings even further by introducing 10 different skin options. These skins can be applied to all three finishes, with multicolor designs being exclusive to the black satin finish.
Ferrules
Cleveland has also rolled out 19 custom ferrules, several of which coordinate with the available paintfill colors. Adding a pop of color here has become increasingly popular among professional and recreational club builders, so it’s nice to see Cleveland offering another way for golfers to personalize their wedges.
Alignment Line
The final paintfill choice on the RTZ 2 wedges comes not on the back or sole of the wedge, but rather on the face. As a stock option, the bottom groove of these wedges lacks any colorful alignment line. For golfers who prefer a visual aid at address, Cleveland allows any of the 20 available paintfill colors to be added to the bottom groove.

Let’s Get Personal
For the benefit of our readers, I took the initiative to personalize three new RTZ 2 wedges. I know what you’re thinking, but there’s no need to thank me for this sacrifice. While I’ve tested plenty of equipment over the years, fully customized wedges haven’t found their way into my bag very often. In fact, I’ve only had one other set of wedges with as much custom stamping or paint fill. Therefore, the chance to order a fresh set from Cleveland was very exciting.
What I immediately discovered is just how many combinations there are to choose from. As someone who occasionally struggles with even the simplest decisions in life, the process can be a little overwhelming, in a good way. Consider this section a behind-the-scenes look at how I personalized Cleveland RTZ 2 Wedges.
My process began with identifying which lofts and finishes would serve as the blank canvas for my creations. Having primarily played with Cleveland wedges for the past 15 years, I have experienced and appreciated all the finishes they have offered. My choice of finishes has varied with recent releases, switching between the Tour Rack RTX 6 wedges and the Black Satin on my RTZ wedges. For the RTZ 2, I decided to return to the Tour Rack finish. For my loft setup, I have consistently used 50°/54°/60° over the years, which was probably the simplest decision throughout this process.
When personalizing a set of wedges, some people prefer to maintain a consistent theme and color pattern for a unified look in their bag. However, I chose a different approach, giving each wedge its own unique personality and flair while embracing a bit of chaos in the process.
50° MID
The first wedge I personalized, and my initial plan was to use all three engraving patterns Cleveland allows. I already had an idea of where I was going with the stamping on the other two wedges, so I selected the snowball pattern here, which allows up to two characters. Naturally, I added my initials to keep it simple.
While browsing the paint fill options, Army Green immediately caught my eye. I chose this color for my initials and for every location except for the Tour Rack and Z-Alloy logos, which I treated with the Off-White option. To complete the look, I used an Army Green ferrule.
54° MID
The summer of 2026 was dominated by two major events: the World Cup and America celebrating its 250th birthday. Therefore, this wedge would feature a red, white, and blue motif, with the American Flag skin on the back. I tried to alternate the colors of our flag, red, white, and blue, in a way that, when you looked at the wedge, the paintfill would appear in that order.
Starting from the loft and grind/bounce down to my son’s name engraved on the toe, I followed this color sequence. I used red paint for “Cleveland,” white for “RTZ 2,” and blue for “Tour Rack.” To finish off the wedge perfectly, I added a USA ferrule. I’ll let you in on a secret: of the three wedges I designed, this one is my favorite.
60° ADAPT
After experiencing success with the Adapt grind in the previous generation, I was determined to incorporate it into the RTZ 2, which I did with the 60° wedge. Like the 54°, I chose toe engraving since it allows for more characters. On this wedge, I had our dog Millie’s name added. My initial instinct was to use as much blue paint as possible, but I decided against that. Instead, I opted for a combination of lime green, yellow, and metallic silver. While it may not win a reader’s choice award for color selection, I like how the metallic silver paint fill turned out.
For the final touches, I upgraded the shafts to Mitsubishi Chemical MMT 105 Stiff flex. My current irons have MMT 85 shafts, so this should provide a seamless transition when I get to this part of my bag. Each wedge is equipped with a SuperStroke REVL Players grip, which I currently have on some other clubs. For my last detail, I chose to add a white alignment line along the bottom groove of all three wedges to provide a clearer visualization of my face angle at setup.
