For many, the month of May is when the weather starts to turn towards summer and with that brings all things America. Hamburgers, hot dogs, baseball, and of course a long weekend towards the end of the month. Sure, it’s an extra day off work, but let’s not forget what we are really supposed to be doing on that day, and that’s honoring our military heroes.
Cobra Golf has once again partnered with Volition America to do just that by donating a portion of all proceeds from the sale of each Volition driver to Folds of Honor Foundation. If you aren’t familiar, Folds of Honor provides scholarships to families of those who have lost loved ones fighting for our great country, certainly a noble cause.
Before we get into the design, you should know there is nothing different about the construction here. Each driver has the same standard features as the normal models, including the new FutureFit 33 adapter, with the only difference being the unique graphics. If you would like to learn more about those features or the DS-ADAPT driver performance we have plenty of feedback on the THP forum here.
The Design
Cobra is known for their limited edition designs, they are incredibly fun and each year we get something unique, but this might just be the best one yet.

Featuring an all blacked out look from head to grip, and intentionally using multiple finishes really makes the design stand out. Right away, we see a digital camo pattern both on the sole as well as the face, and as we have seen before the center is indicated by crosshairs. The crown is said to be satin, it appears to be more matte in my opinion, but the best part is the tiny fighter jets which are embossed and finished with a gloss coating that really stands out. Finally, no military design would be complete without an American flag and Cobra has strategically placed one out towards the toe. All together it’s a fantastic presentation.

The Details
The Cobra Golf Limited Edition DS-ADAPT Volition driver will be available in 3 models: LS, X and MAX-K, each comes with a custom Tensei 1K Black shaft and a limited edition headcover completes the look.

The drivers will be priced at $649 and are available online and at select retailers starting today May 2, 2025. For more information visit cobragolf.com.

And for those wondering, the jets are a bit more subtle in person. They aren’t distracting at all.
This iteration is my favorite of the volitions so far. So many crisp details

Bro I’m gonna have Jets all over my driver, being subtle isn’t what I’m worried about… :ROFLMAO:
But yes, I would agree they didn’t seem distracting.
This driver is so well done. It looks awesome with the all black tones. Wow. Just wow.
Wow, that is super well done. I always love the Volition release
That’s a really great looking driver. Well done Cobra.
Oh wow that is so well done! My shaft of choice too! Soooo good.
The Shaft coordination!!!! ?
So damn good. Really dig the looks of this one.
This one is awesome!!
The little details are unreal. It’s too bad Lamkin couldn’t come up with little jets for the stock Crossline grip.
During last year’s Morgan Cup, as we were being shown what would be the LE releases, this is the one that caught my attention the most. I felt like everything we were shown was impressive, but the DS-Adapt Volition blew me away. So freaking good.
So good. So so good.
Also that special Tensei is incredible looking.
I caved. I don’t care if it’s a 10.5° driver I will find a way to make this work ha ha ha ha
Good news is it can be an 8.5* with FF33!

Love the commitment!
This is so good. I love the head cover
This looks so good. I may just have to grab a Max K, so that I can scratch this itch and satisfy my FOMO on the K
Love this so much!
all around dope design and details. Well done, Cobra!

I think they nailed it. Do we know what lofts will be offered?
[/QUOTE]
I’d assume 9 and 10.5 but it wasn’t mentioned in the press release
Taking all my power to resist this. Didn’t look at the other models but 10.5 for the MaxK was only one available. And of course that is the one I would get.

Love how Cobra did this. ??

Taking this from the DSAdapt thread, can you comment on any differences at address with the Volition head vs standard? I know there is a little more going on at the crown and the face removes the two vertical lines to center. In my brief time with the standard head I am using those vertical lines to address the ball for alignment and I like it. Any thing of note for you guys when switching between heads?
Volition edition always gets me.

I love the details of the Volition crown, in that the tiny fighter jets provide a pleasing pattern that I like better than just the matte crown.

Where the standard version wins for me is the face. I like that the two tones of the standard face and how they frame the center of the face in the address and set-up prior to swing, for me it gets my mind right prior to swing. Where as the volition face washes out a bit and I don’t get the same visual cue prior to the swing. Admittedly, this is personal preference over any failing of the Volition model.

Yeah the big piece for me that I think I really like is how the markings on the face of the standard model is. Those lines help me at address to get in the right place and I would miss those on the Volition model.
But damn I love this version!!!!

I’ll echo you all. Really big fan of the jets on top to get the whole head aligned but do miss the vertical lines.

I mean if I did pull the trigger on the Volition head, could just go the Rickie route and draw some vertical lines on the face. But man would hate to mess with how awesome this looks ?
Cobra does Limited Edition Driver s better than anyone else. The head cover is so sweet Even the shaft matches nicely. My TPT Power Range 18 Hi will match even better
