As we approached the end of 2020, Cobra Golf dropped a new limited edition putter called the KING SuperSport that was both weird and amazing at the same time. When I say “weird”, I don’t necessarily mean the looks or performance, which were quite good, but rather moving the technology needle with the implementation of 3D printing.
After a quick sell out of the limited edition drop, we fast forward to May of 2021 and Cobra launched the KING 3D Printed and Vintage Series putters. That brings us to now and today Cobra is adding a new line called Black, which perfectly compliments the company’s Limited Edition Black LTDx driver and KING Black wedges.
While the putters are identical to the standard models, with the exception of the finish, Cobra’s black 3D Printed putters carry over the same technology with a 3D printed nylon lattice cartridge, which is designed to optimize weight distribution. In regular terms, this weighs less, to allow the designer to move the weight to offer better stability and higher overall MOI.
This isn’t only a makeover, however, there is some new to go along with this finish. The new models include the Agera 30 (Slant Neck OS Mallet) and Supernova 20 & 30 (Slant Neck OS Fangs). Models staying in line include the Grandsport-35 plumber, SuperNova single bend, and Agera single bend in black & silver finish options.
In addition to those new 3D Printed options, Cobra is also offering a new Cuda mallet shape and new hosel additions to the KING Vintage Series line.
The entire line of Cobra putters will continue to feature the SIK Aluminum face insert with Descending Loft Technology (DLT) as well as an Adjustable Weighting System that allows for simple weight adjustments (additional weights sold separately).
All KING Collection putters (3D Printed $349 each, Vintage $249 each) come standard with a Cobra SuperStroke Traxion Tour 2.0 grip and KBS Tour 120 shaft. The new additions to the KING 3D Printed and Vintage series will be available at retail and on their website beginning on May 6, 2022. For more information on the entire KING family of products visit cobragolf.com.
And lastly I decided to measure the Widesport so people can compare to their own putters on the size of the new Cobra offering

Wow, that’s a big difference. It’s not into triple wide territory is it?
I don’t know, I’ve never seen the triple wide, but with how much larger it is than the 1w, it’s probably closer to it than originally thought
First nine in the books with the Cuda. Tough, wet conditions so not the best way to give it a go. Enjoyed the ability to line it up. Only one one putt but also no missed shorties. Need to get it back out and adjust a little bit to the weight.
First 9 in with the Cobra Widesport.
I left 80% of my putts short and I was trying to hit it “at least to the hole” each putt. I am going to say the heavy rains we had Friday and Saturday probably caused the greens to run slower and I didn’t adjust (the entire round)
The putter felt great. The putts all started exactly online and rolled wonderfully. I believe the SIK face insert helped and inconsistent strikes to get the ball rolling.
Had 2 one putts, one from 2 feet from a great chip up and another from 15 feet as I really committed to hitting to the hole on #8
I had 19 total putts, but that wasn’t a fault of the putter, I had 3 3-putts all from 50+ feet away…leads me to believe I need better approach shots ?
I really liked how the putter framed the ball. Also I kind of like the heavier feel of the club head. Still need more time with this, but I feel it could be a sneaky good putter
I noticed the milling on the SIK face attracts dirt and grass quite a bit…I putted a couple times over the weekend from the fringe and didn’t clean the ball off from the slop it had been played in throughout the hole…I had some nice green spots on the face…took a good scrubbing when cleaning the clubs today
Cuda left me wanting a bit tonight. Struggled to get comfortable with it. I think I need to pop on a pistol style grip.

I have a pistol style on my SeeMore and like it, but think I might like non-taper grips better
Finally got my black 34 in. Supernova from my local golf shop – here are some early impressions:
– Obviously a personal preference, but I absolutely love the black finish compared to the original. I found the silver on the original distracting at address, while the black just looks really, really good.
– Although the style of the head cover didn’t change, I’m almost positive they made a smaller version for the Supernova this time around. I could be wrong, but I believe the original version used the same size cover as the Agera and it fit horribly.
– The grip (Super Stroke Tour 2.0) is really nice…but I would love a pistol grip option at some point.
I should be able to get this out on the course next week, but I’m confident this will treat me well given my experiences with the Agera and the Grandsport 35. While I enjoyed the Agera, I struggled with distance control with it, and while I really like the Grandsport 35, I think I’m more suited to a mallet.

@The Dave is correct, its a traxion tour 2.0. I’ve always been a pistol grip putter so it’s thrown me off
Getting a pistol grip did wonders for me with the Cuda. It had taken a bit to get comfortable with setting it up, something I hadn’t expected, but now it’s feeling more dialed in. It almost feels like it’s toe up for me at address, moght need to have somebody look at it for me and address the lie angle. No three putts tonight with a bonus nine holes. Only one one putt but made several longer second putts as I dial in the speed plus Arccos has me three strokes above my average in terms of SG. I think this will get to hang around through the year.
I used the Widesport in a scramble today and the putter fits me well. I was starting the putts on the intended line and once I got the speed down I drained a few 20+ foot putts.
I realized that the worst part of my putting stems from poor green reading…I might need to get my eyes checked
The agera continues to be the most stable putter I’ve ever used. I have the silver version but I’m in love with the black edition. Might have to see if I can pull a swap. I still have my stingray 40 that I’ve been trying to sell too [emoji1787][emoji1787]. Cobra putter addict.

The Cuda did some work today. 27 putts, which is a bit misleading with no GIR ?, but the stats loved the round.

So happy with my Supernova today – really performed like a champ. Distance control was spot on after the first couple of holes, and I had my best overall putting performance in a long time, including draining a 20 footer from off the green for birdie and an uphill 40 foot winding putt for birdie.
I know I’m preaching to the choir about these putters but they are absolutely the real deal. The black finish is so much better then the silver for the Supernova IMO. I don’t see this leaving my bag anytime soon.
In preparation for my Cuda to arrive I have put away the blade and went back to an old favorite, the Odyssey Ten and have been rolling it really well. I can’t wait to see what the Cuda brings to the table for me with the Sik face technology.
Another steller round with the Cuda today. +2.2 strokes gained. This is fun.
Big thing for me is once it got comfortable with the set up the alignment aids make it really easy for me to put it on my desired line.
I got the Agera in today and got 9 holes in with it. Here’s my thought that I posted in the Morgan cup thread.
So the initial thoughts are that I still have to get used to the big grip. My old putter had a much smaller one so it feels quite a bit different. The next thing which stood out the few times I rolled it in the stores is the size. It’s a freaking tank. It just looks massive, but I can’t argue that the feel and the role are pure as can been. I made a couple putts and missed a couple that were really close. Overall thought they rolled just like I wanted. It will take a little getting used the the size visually but overall it feels pretty good through the first 9 holes. I’m going to play in the morning and will post more thoughts in the thread for it.

The Agera made so many clutch putts for both teams last year. It may be a tank, but it puts the ball in the hole.
(editors note: not an Agera owner)
Putting was outstanding today on the front 9 today…12 total putts, 3 birdies, and one of those was a slippery 45-footer on an “island” par 3. Back 9 came back down to earth some, with a poor 21 putts but had sadly 3, 3-putts ?. Those were the pure result of way too far away approach shots 50+ ft first putts. Definitely gained confidence with line and speed with this putter. Sadly, I actually lost strokes inside of 10 ft. Probably because on a couple holes it took me 2 putts from about 4ft ????

The Agera was on and working in it’s first full round yesterday! I drained about a 25ft putt on the 2nd hole for my 2nd birdie. Then on hole 3 I was on the par 5 in two with about 70ft. and left it about 18 inches short for the eagle and got my 3rd birdie in a row. Hole 5 I had another birder after making a big sweeping right to left put from 30ft that I had to play 10ft of break on. I made 2-3 more 7-10ft putts and barely missed a couple 12-15ft putts which I just left a little short but would have been in.
On the short puts the size of it gives you a lot of confidence that you will hit it straight where you want in. I had two putts that I left open and pushed but otherwise they all started on the line I wanted. They come off the face and roll so pure. I would have made 2-3 more putts if I had just gotten them to the hole. Size is one thing that made me hesitant to go with the Agera over the Stingray but I’m glad I did so far. The feel and balance make it so easy to make a nice smooth straight back and forward stoke. The first impressions through 27 holes so far are great.

I think the weight feel similar enough that it’s not a huge difference. I’d say given the fact that I have not hit the practice green at all with it and just played and it has worked means it’s a good fit.

I could not agree more – the Agera very much feels like a point-and-shoot putter on putts 6 ft or less for me, and outside some crazy breaks it usually holds up. My issue with it in the past has been distance control, as I haven’t been able to dial in my stroke to really handle longer putts, but if I could ever figure out distance control I think the Agera would be a no brainer. I also don’t mind the silver on the Agera (though I’d love to see a black one to compare), unlike the silver Supernova which I think actually detracts from the putter itself.

I really like to look of the black so far.
So I finally got a chance to see a black Agera at my local GG…and I’m surprised to admit I think I prefer the silver to the black. While I definitely prefer the black finish overall, my issue is with the sight line. On the silver model, while the line itself is the same semi-reflective silver as the putter head, it’s encased in a black bar in the middle, which contrasts nicely with the silver head and ultimately provides a bigger sight line for aiming. On the black version, the line is now white but the bar is still black and the bar kind of gets lost in the rest of the black finish, which makes it a little more difficult to line up for me.
Still an amazing putter though – can’t go wrong with either IMO.
Got to spend fifteen minutes on a vacant putting green and having the Cuda out felt so good! It’s only been ten days since last having it out which isn’t long but I had been getting out pretty regularly before that to get comfortable with it. First roll was maybe fifteen feet and center cupped so thats a good sign.
The biggest thing that struck me today was it fees like Cuda is more responsive compared to the Supernova. To me, it offers a little more feedback on where you hit the ball on the face. Now you pay for that a bit in foregiveness but I still feel like there is plenty there. I’m excited to keep rolling this one.

I played 9 holes on Monday night and the Agera is still continuing to impress me. It’s so easy to see the line and roll it. I had about 4 putts that I hit the right line but just too soft. 2 were looong puts that I left about 2 ft short but were on line. I had a couple more that were about 10-15 ft putts that just barely died short. I did manage to make a 20 ft eagle putt and about a 15 ft birdie putt though. My confidence from that 10-20 ft range is higher than it’s ever been. I just feel like that have a good shot at going in.
I received my Supernova-20 Black Putter today as part of the 2022 Morgan Cup! Here are my initial thoughts/impressions:
For comparison purposes, I’ve been gaming a White Hot OG 7 Nano for the past couple of months and enjoyed it. I’ve found the #7 head shape and flow neck to help help with my particular alignment issues. The White Hot insert isn’t my cup of tea but is tolerable enough for the head shape I like.
Based on my first impressions I’m confident I made the right decision in my Morgan Cup putter choice. I really like the flow neck + fang shape but only need a little bit of toe hang. The extra “fins” on the Supernova compared to the Nova/#7 style are really confidence inspiring while still keeping the same alignment lines. The all black looks fantastic and feels like it’s really low profile. I think it’s actually a hair taller than the Nano but definitely looks lower. It seems like it just wants to hug the ground and if the face works as advertised the ball will too.
The build quality is very good and worthy of the $350 price tag IMO, especially with all the tech built in. Personal stylistic nit-picks are that I think I’d prefer the “cobra” in the cavity be white instead of green, and the hosel right where it meets the shaft looks a little weird from a couple angles. Neither of those are at address so those are tenth of a point deductions at most.
It feels like the face falls in the meat of the bell curve for metal milled faces, but I probably won’t have much idea on how hot the face is until I get it it on grass, ditto for the effectiveness of the Sik face.
The shaft is a KBS 120 Putter shaft which I believe is different than the CT Tour shaft that came with the putters released last year. Guessing that was a necessary swap for supply chain reasons. The grip appears to be a normal SuperStroke Tour 2.0 except for the Cobra crown logo which looks really sharp. Personally I like it wayyy better than the previous Lamkin grip. It does have the weight port in the butt (I think I saw some folks asking about that).
I admit I have a Stability Tour 2 Black shaft and Flat Cat Tak grip I’ve had around awhile waiting for this putter, and I’ll probably just go ahead and install them since I’m planning to play a bunch of golf with some friends next week.
The headcover is pretty good looking. It’s Velcro which I know to a lot of folks isn’t very premium. I’m not really against Velcro in principle but because it’s “good” Velcro it’s quite loud coming from a magnetic one.
Like I mentioned I should get out a couple times this week, and am playing a bunch next week so I should have a nice batch of feedback to share soon!
I can’t wait for you all to experience these putters!
