COBRA has built a strong reputation in the putter category by focusing on consistency, forgiveness, and real-world performance rather than chasing trends. With the introduction of the new COBRA MIM putter family, the brand takes a clear step forward by refining both its manufacturing process and its approach to face technology. Designed to replace the previous Vintage lineup, the MIM series is positioned as a complete, modern putter family aimed at golfers who want predictable roll, improved stability, and a clean, confidence-inspiring feel.
Set to launch in March 2026, the COBRA MIM putters combine Metal Injection Molding construction with a redesigned Pebax face insert and LA GOLF’s Descending Loft Technology. The result is a lineup built to deliver consistency from head to head while helping golfers achieve more reliable launch and roll on the greens.
COBRA MIM Putters Overview
The foundation of the COBRA MIM putter family is its use of Metal Injection Molding, commonly referred to as MIM. This manufacturing process blends the precision associated with forging and the efficiency of traditional casting. By injecting metal powder into molds and sintering the finished parts, COBRA is able to produce putter heads with extremely tight tolerances and complex shaping.

Consistency matters. MIM construction allows each head to be produced with minimal variance, ensuring that loft, lie, weight, and shape remain consistent across the entire lineup. It also gives COBRA greater freedom in refining details such as bumpers, toplines, and cavity shaping without adding unnecessary weight.
Compared to the Vintage series it replaces, the MIM family benefits from cleaner geometry, more precise edges, and improved overall uniformity. While these details may seem subtle, they contribute directly to confidence at address and predictable performance on the course.
Metal Injection Molding and Performance Benefits
One of the key advantages of Metal Injection Molding is repeatability. Unlike traditional casting, which can introduce slight inconsistencies from head to head, MIM allows COBRA to tightly control the final shape and mass properties of each putter. That repeatability is especially important in a category where small changes in weight distribution can influence feel and roll.
MIM construction also enables more complex internal shaping than traditional methods. This gives COBRA engineers greater flexibility to optimize center of gravity placement while maintaining clean external lines. The end result is a putter head that looks traditional in some ways while benefitting from modern manufacturing precision.
Next-Generation Pebax Face Insert
Each COBRA MIM putter features a redesigned Pebax face insert that plays a central role in both feel and forgiveness. Pebax is a lightweight thermoplastic elastomer that allows COBRA to move mass away from the face and redistribute it throughout the head. This helps increase moment of inertia and improves stability on off-center strikes.

For the MIM lineup, COBRA has refined the Pebax insert to be firmer and more durable than previous generations. That change is designed to deliver a more responsive feel at impact while maintaining the soft sound profile many golfers prefer. The updated insert also improves long-term performance, resisting wear over time while maintaining consistent feedback.
The lighter insert construction supports the overall goal of the MIM putters: stability without sacrificing feel. Golfers who tend to miss slightly toward the heel or toe should see more consistent ball speeds and improved distance control.
Descending Loft Technology from LA GOLF
Integrated into the Pebax insert is Descending Loft Technology, developed by LA GOLF. DLT uses four loft zones across the face, progressing from four degrees at the top to one degree at the bottom. This design helps normalize launch conditions regardless of how the putter is delivered at impact.

Many golfers either add loft or deloft the putter during the stroke, often without realizing it. Those tendencies can lead to inconsistent launch, excessive skid, or poor roll. Descending Loft Technology works to counter those variations by optimizing launch angle across different impact positions.
The result is a smoother transition from skid to roll and more consistent end-over-end ball motion. For golfers who struggle with distance control or inconsistent roll, DLT can provide a tangible performance benefit rather than a purely theoretical one.
Feel, Sound, and Player Feedback
Feel remains a critical component of putter performance, and the COBRA MIM lineup is clearly tuned to appeal to a wide range of golfers. The combination of MIM construction and the updated Pebax insert creates a soft but responsive impact sensation. Sound is muted without feeling dull, providing enough auditory feedback to support distance control.
This balanced feel profile should appeal to golfers who prefer inserts over fully milled faces but still want feedback that reflects strike quality. Rather than masking mishits entirely, the MIM putters offer subtle cues while maintaining forgiveness.
Who the COBRA MIM Putters Are Designed For

The COBRA MIM putters are built for golfers seeking consistency, forgiveness, and predictable roll. Players who value a softer feel but still want help stabilizing the head through impact should find this lineup appealing. The combination of MIM construction, a lightweight insert, and Descending Loft Technology supports a wide range of stroke types.
Golfers transitioning from older insert putters or looking to replace the Vintage series will see clear updates in shaping, consistency, and roll performance. The MIM family is designed to deliver measurable benefits to everyday golfers who want more reliability on the greens.
Cobra MIM Models
The MIM lineup is robust, with seven different head shapes available, along with a couple unique neck options.
Our Perspective
The COBRA MIM putters make sense for golfers who prioritize consistency and forgiveness over outright feel extremes. Metal Injection Molding gives COBRA the ability to deliver reliable head-to-head performance, while the updated Pebax insert provides a soft but responsive impact profile that should appeal to a wide range of players.

Descending Loft Technology stands out as a practical performance feature rather than a theoretical one. Many golfers unknowingly alter loft at impact, and DLT works quietly in the background to promote cleaner launch and more consistent roll. On paper, the MIM lineup fits well for players looking to stabilize distance control and reduce rollout variability without moving to a fully milled face.
The key will be how well the refined insert balances feedback with forgiveness across different stroke types. If performance matches the design intent, the MIM family should be a strong option for golfers seeking dependable roll in a clean, modern package.
Pricing and Availability
The COBRA MIM putters will retail for $279 per model. They are scheduled to be available at authorized COBRA Golf retailers beginning March 13, 2026. This pricing places the MIM family in a competitive position within the premium insert putter category.

I think Odyssey has something similar to the descending loft tech in their face and I’m a huge fan of that on the Tri-Hot. I think it should be nothing but helpful here.
Firmer PEBAX 🙏
Plumbers neck stingray is back! 🙏

Fair- I’ve never considered colors as having qualities, but I guess we look at the red Tiger wore and I can go along with it. Was genuinely curious what it was that caused the immediate ick…
I could care less what color the face is since you barely see it at address.
Great looking putters and such a good price for what you’re getting. I never could adjust to the aluminum insert in the 2023 putters, but the Pebax felt much better and seemed more consistent. I’ll have to give these a roll when I can find them in-store.
I love the look of the nova and camino
Cobra is easily the most underrated putter manufacturer in golf. They are on a very short list of putter’s that I would personally play.

I believe they are the same. If memory serves, LA Golf bought the SIK tech or something like that?
Yeah they bought Sik years ago. The funny thing is cobra had made better putters using DLT than Sik or LA Golf ever have.
the quality looks great – not a big fan of the visuals on the face but if it works it works.
good gracious.

I still think the need a new name for the insert. Pebax is weird and I feel icky saying it..
I really liked the Pebax insert in the last iteration and almost went with Nova for my MC bag. Great update now with the MIM series. Priced competitively too for how great Cobra outters are.
The in hand photo in the live thread prompted me to check the article out and I now notice that they all use a sight dot alignment. I will own one of these, it is settled.
Wish the colors came out a bit darker… the lighter takes away some of the premium look… .02

Sad that they are not as dark as the release photos… that looks like a premium coloscheme.

Thanks for another great write up @Hawk !! A firmer Pebax insert sounds interesting and I really like the alignment on the Nova. Cobra is killin’ it for 2026.

Sign me up for the stingray that is a thing of beauty.
Ooh more putter options. I like this. That Nova looks pretty sharp.
These look so clean and subtle…sort of digging the Camino.

correct
I can’t wait to try how these feel off the face.
I rolled an older nova at the shop the other day and really liked it. The stingray looks like it deserves a roll too.

waiting until March will be hard….
The price point for these is such a good value. Wow.
I do wish they would update their website though.
These look pretty good.
I have some thoughts.

They look great. For me I like them better than 3DP from a looks standpoint. The insert is still soft, though slightly firmer than the last I think but couldn’t compare side by side
Great write up, really like the look of the Nova and they price is great compared to others out there.
What’s wrong with red?!?
That Blazer is sharp, even with a sight dot instead of a line.
These look great. I’m always rooting for the companies that struggle to get in the bags of your pros, like Cobra. Very nice looking flatsticks
This putter has so much to love – simple and understated. I prob need the tech and forgiveness of the 3DP, but this is a truly incredible putter.

That red….Is red.
Feeling the Nova SL, always get along well with that shape. I hit an old Agera arm lock the other day I liked too. Just not in an armlock.
