Not unlike their drivers, Cobra has been confidently crafting some outstanding products in the fairway and hybrid lineups over the last couple release cycles. I remember back in the day with their LTD lineup, thinking it would be tough to top the idea of being able to audit the internals of a club, but as expected, they have taken steps forward to promote better and better, with a propensity for putting quality sound at the forefront of their deliverables.
What we have the opportunity to introduce to you today, is RADSPEED. Using the same radial weighting considerations that they have applied to their latest driver lineup, Cobra is strategically placing weight relative to the CG location to maximize performance between speed, control, and forgiveness. It sounds a bit loaded from the outside looking in, but golfers can actually see the weight configurations on each head in the lineup to understand where that weight is being featured, and with a bit of understanding on how weight placement works, recognize what Cobra is seeking to achieve.
It is probably worth considering how they got to this point, and much of that comes with better technology in weight saving techniques, like their thinply carbon crown, which is saving about six grams of weight from the crown. They also hollowed out their two rails that flow across the club head from face to back, once again finding ways to isolate that weight into better and more efficient locations. They have also found a significant improvement on the flexion properties by doing this, which means faster ball speeds for golfers.
While the rails have gotten hollow in the new design, the benefits remain the same. With a headshape like a fairway, we all as golfers need some quality turf interaction to promote a solid strike, and that has not changed for this release. Better flow through the grass means maximum ball speed, and that is something that I have loved about the Cobra fairway offerings over the last couple years. I personally have played the tour style head with complete confidence that I can get the head through the ball without battling the ground, and that is critical with a club at that distance.
One of the biggest stories out of Cobra recently was their infinity face, which has carried over into some of their fairway woods. For those seeking the benefits of the standard head or their draw head, the infinity face will be present to not only support serious consistency across the face, but act as a pretty fantastic safeguard against the dreaded pop fly skymark swing. When designing the latest version of the Big Tour and Tour heads, Cobra went with their regular CNC milling instead of the infinity CNC at the preference of their Tour staff.
The colors for RADSPEED are nothing short of spectacular. Transitioning slightly from their previous yellow, the new offering features “Turbo Yellow” and white accents off a matte black face for the regular and draw versions, with a slight tweak in the tour offerings having a gloss finish on the crown. For the regular RADSPEED head, Cobra has also introduced their ever (Puma) popular “Peacoat Blue” with white, red, and black accents that immediately caught my eye. I love that they took an incredibly popular blue and made it reality, making golfers almost feel like they have a limited edition driver in their bag after the last few US Open limited runs.
For RADSPEED Hybrids, Cobra has maintained that radial weighting perspective with one adjustable weight in the back, and two weights at the front of the head near the toe and the heel. Looking at the internals of the head, you can see just how much of the weight is present on the extremes to promote lower CG and spin, which in turn leads to faster ball speed (read: distance). They have a high strength forged face insert that has variable face thickness to maintain consistency, and are carrying over the hollow split rails to save on weight and isolate it to other regions. While Radial weighting is the big story for 2021, I still firmly believe that the rail system is critical for success in a head of this design. Promoting quality turf Cinteraction in a hybrid is paramount, and if history is any indicator of the performance aspects of Cobra’s design, this offering will not fall short on allowing golfers to swing with confidence from a variety of different lies.
As you would expect, they are offering their one length option in blue/white/red accents as we have seen in the past for that style of product (in 19, 21, and 24 degrees), and continuing their turbo yellow and white accents on the standard model (17, 19, 21, and 24 degrees). From a top line perspective, only subtle differences are openly present, which reflects the colorway for each head.
From driver to hybrid, Cobra has taken weight placement to the next level, focusing on what each individual golfer needs with a product that suits their game. With colorways that look absolutely spectacular in pictures, it is hard to fathom golfers will not fall in love with the presentation as soon as the product is in hand. Right now I have F9 3W @15.5 with an Oban Devo 7S, F9 3H @ 19 with an Oban Devo 8S, and RadSpeed 7W @ 22.5 with Motore X F3 R. I love both the F9 and the RadSpeed – rails ftw. I’m pondering switching to a RadSpeed 3W with the F3 shaft as the head is a bit deeper than the F9 and the F3 shaft is a bit more active. But I find the 3W-3H-7W setup (then into 5i) gives a lot of options. The 3H can be hit out of most any lie, the 7W gives a higher flight, and the 3W turned up to 15.5 gives me a bit more height.
i went 5 wood tour, 21 degree hybrid and 7W. I opted for the 4 iron in the king Tour as well

looking forward to your thoughts! They look great!
But the 4hybrid with the MMT shaft is silly long with such a great penetrating but high ball flight. This one is going to be fun
i have a zx4 4i that I can swap in/out for the 7w depending on conditions (we get a lot of wind) or mood (I have a lot of suck).

I love every single thing about this post!
Went out for about 5 holes this morning and hit this from 178 in the fairway with the 7 wood. That’s the pitch mark 8 feet in front of the ball. High, strait, and stop. Hit the 5 wood on a 190 par 3. Didn’t hit the green, but high, strait, and pin high to the right a bit. I am definitely liking the ball flight with these woods.

If only it was yesterday’s pin
Actually the pin was just right of my camera. I was only about that far away anyway. I left the birdie putt 1" short..?
Absolutely delicious!
This is a phenomenal unboxing video, great job ?
Doug my man, that is incredible!
I gave the rails a workout tonight….
A cool thing that I did with my fairways is that I am playing both at 5 wood length(42.75 in). This really seems to give me an opuurtunity to use a single swing set up and let the loft do the distance gapping for me.
My very first hole with my clubs, I hit driver, 7 wood to about 25ft, and sunk the putt for an eagle!!! Great part was my dad and brother were there to help me celebrate.
In my bag:
3 wood- 14.5* RadSpeed with Motore F1 7s
7 wood- 22.5* RadSpeed with Motore F1 7s
4 hybrid: RadSpeed OL with 480 ES F4

This is the picture of the result from the very first time I hit the 7 wood. 220 yards to about 25ft for eagle(which I drained)!
Punched one under a tree and over a pond (Hero Shot ) to just over the back of the green from 155.
Hit one from 180 over a large tree about 70 yards in front of me onto the green on the longest par 4 on the front 9.
Dropped one to about 15′ on the 175 yard par 3 on the back 9.
Isn’t it crazy how awesome a 7 wood is?!
I do not know how I have played golf this long without one
Dang, the production value of that. ?
It is such a good club. On any course I play at the length my buddies play (6500ish) instead of the length I should play (6200ish) there is always a couple of par 4’s I will use it on for approach and at least one but usually two par 3’s I use it on. Obviously it’s a great 2nd shot club on most par 5’s too. Very useful for my game.
What also surprised me, I am playing it at 42.75in and it is almost as long as my old 4 wood. Maybe 10-15 yards shorter but the 7 wood is a lot more useful.
So I go to my lesson and I tell him that the only club in the bag that I am having problems with is the hybrid so we start working on wedges of course. Basically the spiel was that I got to a low 80’s golfer by controlling the flight of my ball from side to side so now I need to flight the ball better vertically. He wanted to see me really work on my punch capabilities. This led to him seeing that I am heeling shots a lot so we worked on getting contact more in the center of the face which helped the trajectory control. So I got some drills for all of that. Then it was on to the Driver. Ok, I bomb some drives and he says that looks good now go get the 3w. Ok that looks good now lets look at the hybrid. I take 2 shots and he asked what is the loft and I tell him 17*. He says ok then play it in your stance the way you would a driver. Off your heel and wide stance. 2 off the tee were higher the exact shot I was looking for out of the hybrid. Then he said ok take 2 off the ground with the same stance. 2 more perfect hybrids. Now go grab your 3w and do the same thing, and these 3w’s were better than the ones I just hit 5 minutes before. He then says that the first thing he did was move my contact back to the center of the face then had me making a better swing with the adjustment of ball position. So after hitting a bunch of balls on Friday, then a range session and lesson on Saturday morning I then drove out for 18 on Saturday afternoon. I got to the course about 70 minutes early so I ate my packed lunch and then went to hit more balls. I was flighting everything with what I had just learned. I get up to the the 1st tee and hit a beauty of a drive. I took the 3w off the tee 1 time and hit out of the fairway with it 1 time. Both were ok, not what I was used to at the range but better than my previous 3w. Both were later in the round. The hybrid I hit of the tee on 2 and was a little thin, oops, but in the fairway. I then took the hybrid on 16 and hit the most majestic little draw with it. I think I love the hybrid now. lol. I just need to get a little more real course play with them and I think I can be dangerous with them.
TLDR – Radspeed 3w and 2h are awesome when you actually know how to hit them.

Another today. 7W on 173 par 3. Then 3 jacked the birdie try ?

Sounds like you need the putter to show up!
There is no way I would have 3 putted with that Agera.
Great work @GolfTravelDude!!
The 5 tour. Better hit it well. When I put good swings on it the flight was perfect. Carry around 240 with a few longer. It Will require me to put in some extra work on strike. My biggest concern was the removal of my beloved CLK 2020 2H. This club does everything and seems more versatile off the tee. Feel is very nice.
you’ve pondered long enough. Time to order ?
Did you go with stock shaft length? I was fit into my F9 3H going with 40” shaft. Was thinking if I went 5H I’d maybe go 39” (so 1/4” short – not earth shattering difference).
im sure our games are not comparable, but I have never had a club quite like the RadSpeed 7 wood.
I just put the slightly ahead of center hit down on it and I have a ball that flies 215-225 and lands as soft as I do my 6 iron. Until now I have never had a club that I felt confident from that distance.
The loft at address at first was a little off putting, but now all I think about is how confident I am with it.
I went stock length coming from Apex 19 hybrids in the same positions in my bag. I feel I’ve upgraded in ease of use for sure.
Used the fairway woods four times.
shot 1 – 3 wood off the tee on a short par 4; yanked it hard left.
shot 2 – 3 wood off the deck from 235 on a par 5; slice city leaving 80 yards from the rough on the next hole coming back at us
shot 3 – reload from spot 2 with the 3w; caught this one flush and was pin high, just a few paces off the left side of the green
shot 4 – 5 wood off a good lie in light rough, topped into the tall grass
So 1 out of 4 at the moment and the three misses were bad! I need to work that out this summer. I’ve got heavier weights on order to see if that helps me feel where the club is. These clubs and my swing need some work.
Maybe the rails are magic but it feels like the hybrids just want to go straight. My miss off the deck with hybrids is right and I just haven’t seen that so far.
