In preparation for the PGA Merchandise show we wanted to learn about all the apparel brands that will be showcasing at the exhibition. During this research we learned about a ladies golf apparel company named Designs by Jun.

After browsing their website and reading the story about how this company began I was very excited to review the line. We were sent two complete outfits for review.

About the Company:
Designs By Jun is an apparel company that adds a glamorous but functional twist to women’s golf and “every wear” apparel. The Jun collection, with respect to the traditions of golf, adds a classic Old Hollywood twist with a touch of innovation. Jun’s Every Wear Collection can be worn everywhere … playing golf, work, shopping, dinner, movies, or traveling. Jun’s innovative design is for women on the go who don’t want to sacrifice style for comfort. As always … made in the USA.

The first outfit consisted of a black skort and a red long sleeved top. The black skort looked like something I would have in my closet to wear to work. Very classy looking with a slight pleat and decorative faux pockets in the front. I love the illusion of the flat pockets especially the buttons with a tiny rhinestone for a little added elegance. There are pockets on the skort they are just on the side like a normal pair of slacks plus an additional one on the back so there is still a place to hold your glove while on the green. The skort is knee length which is why it reminds me so much of a work skirt but it has the oh so important built in shorts which makes them appropriate for the golf course. Besides looking great this skort is down right comfortable. The fabric is so nice to the touch, again reminding me of a high end dress skirt. This bottom was paired with a red long sleeved top with lots of fun bling. Right off the bat I liked this top because it was a V-neck and the fabric is very stretchy and soft. This reminds me more of a top I would wear out to dinner with friends. I absolutely love the versatility of the apparel from Designs by Jun, this is the epitome of bridgewear. For those who like a more close fit top you will love this shirt. If you are a traditionalist who prefers the cotton polos then these are not the clothes for you. However, if you like the idea of being able to wear super comfortable work clothes on the course this is a brand you must check out.

The second outfit was a completely different color pallete from the first but it had that same office to course concept. The plaid skort looks just like a pencil skirt because it’s straight down and finishes right at the knee. The bonus, just like with the black skort, is that is does have the great built in shorts underneath so you don’t have to worry about bending over to pick up your ball or that ‘uh-oh’ moment when the wind blows. Just like the black bottoms this skort is incredibly comfortable and moves with you as you are walking and playing. I loved the colors in this skort especially the green and yellow which is how the yellow top ties into it so well. This was paired with a short sleeved yellow top that is a very similar fabric to the red top. It has a v-neck color with a pleated/ruffled design which is continued on the sleeves as which adds a great feminine detail. This color of yellow is bound to brighten up anyone’s day. This is a fantastic springtime outfit that will keep you smiling no matter how you are playing.

The Designs by Jun line is very unique and it is not like many other brands I have review so far. These are the kind of clothes that you could truly wear to any business casual office or social event. If you are tired of your everyday bermuda shorts and cotton polos then this could be a brand to check out. As of right now Designs by Jun is found in pro shops in Florida and California. Jun’s story is truly remarkable, she is not just a clothing designer, she is also an award winning golfer. I think you hit the nail on the head when you call it bridge wear. The clothes look well made, but are not a style or design I would wear. I like the neckline of the yellow shirt, but the sleeves are too long for me. I like the cut of the plaid golf skirt, but not the colors. I don’t like pleats on golf skirts or shorts so I wouldn’t wear the black golf skirt, but the fabric looks very nice.

I continue to love the buttons on the red shirt.

Too bad there’s only ONE back pocket on the black skort. We lefties lose out again.

On the yellow shirt, I simply don’t do ruching. It looks bunched up to me. The coordinating skort looks nice, though.
