Last year we teased something called Dream Foursome, where you could pick other forum members and go to a THP Experience. We are excited to announce thanks to True Temper and Callaway Golf it is a reality. It’s called Dream Foursomes, because rather than have one group of THPers enjoy this incredible resort, two will be joining us and you will get to choose who is coming!
When and Where
November 8th-10th
PGA National Resort and Spa
Palm Beach, FL
Dream Foursomes
Each person will choose two other THP forum members for a few days at the beautiful PGA National Resort and Spa home of the Honda Classic on the PGA Tour. You will be playing the same course the Pros play for one of the rounds and the other will be played on their soon to be open Match Course. It wouldn’t be a Dream Foursome without industry experts, so you won’t be alone. Each foursome will be rounded out by either Keenan Phillips from True Temper or Jason Finley from Callaway Golf. Two of the best in the business and will be a blast to play with for THPers.
Cost & What’s Included
Cost: Zero Dollars – You will be responsible for your travel to FL, and we will be covering everything else.
Lodging at PGA National Resort
Multiple Golf Rounds
Group Dinners and Breakfast each day
Swag that will blow your mind
How To Get Involved
While signup will be coming soon, it is important to remember your 2021 Albatross Club membership is your key to unlock this and many other once in a lifetime experiences on THP. If you are not a member, and want information on how to join and help support an amazing charity helping children in need, click here.
Itinerary
11/8: Arrival and Meet and Greet Dinner. This will be a chance to meet the other Dream Foursome as well as Keenan Phillips from True Temper and Jason Finley from Callaway Golf. This evening will be filled with food, drinks and your chance to ask anything you want about the brands.
11/9: Golf in the morning and then group dinner where we will get into the gear and talk about equipment.
11/10: The two dream foursomes will hit the Champion Course to tame the Bear Trap. After the round, some lunch and cold one before hitting the road.
If you ever wanted to learn about multiple brands, learn about equipment, shafts, golf balls and more. This is the ultimate way to share this special trip on us, with two amazing brands and we promise the swag for each participant is going to be AWESOME!
How to Signup
Signup will be coming soon and this thread will have all of the details on how and when, but here is the gist of it. When signup opens, you will choose two other THPers that will join Callaway Golf and True Temper for the trip. All three THPers must be members of the Albatross Club to qualify. If you win, they win. This will be open for a total of 6 THPers, so two lucky winners.
I did it and it recommended regular ChromeSoft.
No worries, the offer is there. You’re not going to do anything I would/wouldn’t. It’s a golf cub, you want it, you got it. And don’t feel bad about it. It’s already got a sky mark or ten. Just make sure I get it back, that’s my favorite driver (right now at least).
Here in these indecipherable scrawls are some of the questions I may have about True Temper and Callaway.
At least they’re on paper. ?
I like where you’re going with this.
Tempo vs. Speed is a really interesting topic!
What do you hope to learn when asking about product performance vs. marketing?
Are you a lawyer?
I watched several of Keenan’s True Temper School videos and he talked about the difference between speed and tempo in the golf swing and how the shafts are affected. I don’t know a lot about shafts but I want to know what shaft would fit my swing. I know my speed is relatively slow but I have no clue as to tempo.
The product performance v. marketing is a follow up on what JB wrote in a recent post about Callaway Balls. It was something that Jason Finley referenced. I’m interested from a marketing perspective of how they market the balls to an average mid-handicap golfer like me.
I plead the Fifth
That’s exactly it. I know my swing speed speed screams Regular but I have no idea what shaft flex best fits my tempo.
I hit one drive that was as good as any I have had in a couple years on one particular hole. I had a 3 wood off the tee that was 270 yards, which is absolutely crushed for me (again, I play at elevation). The ball was a bit straighter than the ball I used for the front 9, which is something that Callaway touts for standard ChromeSoft. It stopped really well on chips and pitches around the green. Honestly, it was a small sample size, but the ball worked as well as any ball I have tried this year. It was a very pleasant surprise to me.
That’s great when you find something that works. Looking forward to see how it continues to play. I’m thibk I’m going to pick up a sleeve next round out too for testing.
Hard to believe that tomorrow is October 1st.
Thanks for following.
The TruVis are awesome! I wish they had them in the CSX. Which color did you go with? yellow and black are my faves!
It was the white and red. I really enjoyed it, and my young boys thought the "soccer ball" was really cool too haha.
I love chipping with them the most. You see it spinning!
Agree, fun to see it spin, and even spin back. Give you good perspective.
Hoping to try some of the CSX as well soon. When I do the online fitting tool I’m always right between CS and CSX, so I’m curious how it’ll play..
I like the yellow and green “soccer balls” although my most recent ones are the white with the red and blue..
The American flag ones are my second favorite (the new Arnie ones are my favorite)
The Arnie ones are so cool that I would be hesitant to use them.
I have yet to take one out of the sleeves .
I would hope you all are! I am and I’ll just be following along!
Absolutely! Seeing all those smiles, a beautiful course, friendly competition, I don’t know how you couldn’t be!
Yea I really want to see ours turn into a little Team True Temper vs. Team Callaway. Obviously, the forum EATS the competition up as seen by the Morgan Cup thread, and outside of the Grandaddy this event looks like 3rd best for some great competition since it was basically two handpicked 3somes. And on top of it were playing The Match course which seems RIPE for some Shambles or something. I’m super excited after seeing how much people seemed to love the competition between Team Hackers and Team Paradise.
I am so looking forward to it. And I hope the forum is too. The MC showed that the forum goes into full overdrive during Experiences. I would like to make this one not be the exception. I want to have a following worthy experience.
I’m looking forward to some great golf at a great location with some great people. And the obligatory food photos.
It will be my first THP Experience. The other 5 participants will be the first THPers I will actually meet and play with. That’s significant as I have been on the forum since 2017.
I would assume that there will some competition associated with the event.
There will be lots of fun, memories, gratitude and appreciation associated with this Experience.
28 days, but who’s counting!
Not me!!

It will be here before you know it.
You have waited so long for yours which will make it even more special.
You are correct! My excitement grew even larger this weekend watching the MC go down!
I probably missed it what other course will you be playing?
The newly opened Match Course. Its a unique concept as far as a golf course – no set tees, no par.
As my first Experience, it hasn’t fully hit me yes. Yet, I know it will on the first day of the Experience. I already am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to play at PGA National.
27 days!
Oh now that is awesome! Just took this one up a notch. Can’t wait to hear what you all think of that one.
And no rough.
So we asked the person that was selected to pick someone else for their Dream Foursome and @Bernoulli selected @BigDill
He will be joining on the trip to PGA National.
@BigDill!!! What a great selection!
I don’t know what to make of it that three lawyers will be in one foursome. That will be miserable for Keenan or Jason. ???
