Having a discussion recently with some golfers about favorite putts from a makable range. Whether that be fast or slow, breaking right to left or vice versa. The crazy person that loves the double break. It dawned on me that everybody has that confidence level in one style putt that they feel is going in and rarely is it a straight one.
So from 10 feet away, what is yours?
Reading is fundamental…
Not really the question
Straight
Left to right
flat
Uphill
Downhill
that would be my orders
Sure it is. I don’t care how it breaks as long as it’s for eagle. I don’t get many of those and they’re my favorites because that means I either drive a par 4 (which I haven’t done for years) or hit a par 5 in two to 10’… which I don’t think I’ve ever done.
Especially from 10 feet, I would MUCH rather have the putt breaking left instead of right.
because they are rude.
Haha I hate feeling like I have to be perfect and a slight bend gives me more margin for error

I agree with this. I want something slightly up hill and with enough break to be able to see it. Call it right or left edge. That give you more margin than something straight.
I use aim point, so I love a 3 or 4 that breaks left to right and about 15 feet long …
Hardest: Downhill left to right where I have to die the ball into the top of the hole. So hard to keep the ball up on that line.
On the flip side straight putts are the devil.
Are far as most comfortable. I don’t know. Uphill. Gentle uphill. I like to be able to be aggressive.
That said, I could just as easily be that "crazy person" who likes multi break putts. They offer a unique challenge to one’s putting skill. I tend to make these putts from time to time. I just read them backwards, and roll the ball on my chosen line. Then, I just wait to see what happens…lol
slight uphill.
I’m the same. I’m a lefty and prefer the right to left break.
