Today we will be unboxing and showing off the technology of the new Foresight GC3 launch monitor. We have a lot more coming up on these devices once they get officially unveiled in the near future.
The teasers for these devices and early buzz for the internet golfer has set the stage for heavy anticipation of this launch. While we cannot answer questions today about pricing, that will be coming soon in our next update, we are here to talk all about the devices.
This is a dual launch for two separate products. The Foresight GC3 and the Bushnell Launch Pro. Before we get to the technical side of things, it is important to note that these two devices are identical from a hardware standpoint. Let’s go over what it does and to do that, we dropped the new Foresight GC3 into the THP Tech Studio for a full test.
Similar in fashion to the GCQuad we use for all of our equipment testing in the studio, the GC3 uses multiple cameras (in this case 3) and features the same level of accuracy that are considered by many to the be the gold standard in measurement. Why? Well a lot of reasons, but the most glaring being that cameras capture more ball and club data such as spin axis rather than use algorithms to derive what is taking place.
What Foresight has been able to put into the GC3, makes this the launch monitor that many golfers have been waiting for.
Foresight is launching the GC3, which is what we featured in the video above. Bushnell is releasing the Launch Pro, which is the exact same device from a hardware stand point. Our next update on these devices we will show off the full video (the second half is cut out above) where we unravel the cost of ownership, as well as what makes Foresight GC3 and Bushnell Launch Pro different.
Really hope this hits the price mark I’m hoping.
Love the wireless aspect.
We will have the rest of that coming up very soon, but can say hardware wise, they are identical and both will run what you saw on our screen.
Both have been tested and yesterday even had them working side by side for a bit.

The fact that we were running this one with no plugs at all was pretty awesome. The wireless aspect is very cool, plus, battery life seemed excellent.
Just as a side note, the GCQuad can run on Wifi as well.
I was just going to ask about the battery. I figured it would last for 2 or 3 range sessions? Does accuracy of the numbers drop off as the battery dies?
You will get longer unless your range sessions are quite long. I had it running for 3 hours straight.
Accuracy does not drop off at all.
If you have multi hour range sessions, maybe, but I’d bet even then it’ll last longer than people will expect. We left it running a very very long time, and straight out of the box too.
Thanks to being camera based, they all offer extreme accuracy and consistency.
I know what we can talk about today is somewhat limited, but we did try with the gc3 next to the quad and there was some sort of interference that was not allowing that to work.
What are you most curious about?
What club data is available with 3rd camera. Really curious how it will work in the home sim market. Just guessing that maybe that will be target market of bushnell pro model. I know all this will be answered soon. Great job guys bringing this product to us.
We can answer much of that now. It will be one dot club data, much of it will be available. If you can get it with the GC2+HMT, it appears to be found here. Which is awesome.
Im not sure if you have seen the video yet, but it has some of that in there. This is the same level of accuracy that one would and should expect out of a GC2+HMT or GCQuad. While most of the home launch monitors are run on radar, that means no measurement of spin axis and much of the club head at impact not measured (right or wrong). The actual measurement and data mimics that of the GCQuad, so if you believe that is an accurate unit, this will be no different.
The 3 is just as accurate as you’d expect from foresight, which is more accurate than any of these smaller units out there by a large margin in my experiences.
Very nice. Looking forward to seeing more. Can you tease us with any info as it pertains to sim golf.
We showed it in the video, briefly. While that was the range, not a course, my same library of courses that I bought works on both devices.
Genuinely they will be identical or with in a couple of RPMs. They are using the same software and same cameras. One has a 4th camera, but the measurements are the same.
It will get pretty interesting at that time and we will have a new thread with the full review, because we breakdown this vs some other options as it pertains to radar.
But as far as accuracy goes, there should be zero concerns.
Is there info what the fourth camera delivers that now is missing from the GC3‘s capabilities set?
The two that stand out are impact location and face angle.
Maybe I did not pick that info up, but are we aware whether the Foresight and the Bushnell units will be priced differently apart from subscription models? So pure hardware price more or less?
They can’t disclose that info yet
Unfortunately I cannot answer that in terms of branding and/or badging as we only have a couple of the Foresight GC3 units. In speaking to Bushnell we expect some of that to take place. There are some other major differences, as it pertains to how they will hit market, as we suggest in the video is coming up next for our content. We pulled some out of the middle of what you saw today and a full 5-7 minutes post @Canadan hitting that you will get coming up soon.
Side note, I really thought @Jman Was going to toss the unit across the room when he took it out if the box ?
@Canadan wanted me to
That first part though, will bring interesting convo when we can talk about it
This pic has me thinking of something… I wonder how good the unit is in the sun. Obviously we see how clear and easy it is to see the GCQuad.
Practically begging for it.
Let me see if I can simulate that soon and take a picture.
Awesome.
As silly as it is, that might be one of the best features of the GCQuad, with how most screens are.
Honestly I don’t expect it to be as reflective as the GCQuad, which has such a great screen for outdoors. But I don’t think walking up to it or seeing it will be too much of a challenge. A shade could be made too.

This^^^!
If they price it in the $3000-$3500 range(or less) I think they have a huge winner. If it’s pricing is more in line with the GC2 IMO their potential market will be much smaller.
Realistically speaking, no golfer is ever going to have a GC quad and a GC 3 next to each other. That’s even too much for an internet golfer. You only need one at a time haha.
This device was quite, quite good. If I needed an in-home simulator, this would be right in contention
Yes our courses have run fine.
And that, in my opinion, will be why we see a Bushnell branded devices launched as well. They will probably be the device most of us enthusiasts end up going at a lower price point. I have heard rumblings of a likely subscription model with it. But, sounds like we will get confirmation on that soon.
With the quality being what it is, can they really be in that window?
If the name is GC1, I sort of get it.. But this is GC3.
From a hardware standpoint, there are zero differences.
They both function the same way and we will be breaking down the one way they differ coming up soon.
