FlavaGolf – The Headcover Company You Need to Know About

Custom headcovers. The space is already crowded and growing, and some do it extremely well, others not so much. Once in a while, a company or person chooses to go a different route and brings to market some extremely creative and unique items that makes you do a double take. Introducing FlavaGolf.

What started out as a personal search to find a headcover company that could combine a couple of logos of my favorite sports teams into a cover led me to a small but exciting Etsy Shop. That shop is FlavaGolf and unlike a lot of what you see out there, this is not about theft of copyrighted logos, but using actual licensed goods and repurposing them for golfers.

We reached out to the shop with our idea, which was looking for a cover that would combine the Tampa Bay Rays logo and Tampa Bay Lightning logo into one cover. Austin, the shop owner and creator of the covers was quick to respond with some ideas. What jerseys would be used, how he could use the logos, etc.

With each step in the process, messages were exchanged with ideas on how it would look best, what we were working with from the jerseys and more. We gave Austin the creative control to put together something great to his eye, as long as both logos could be seen.

Upcycling goods is not a new thing. For years LV bags and purses, Nike shoe boxes and countless other items have been repurposed in unique ways. Using uniforms and other regular items for head covers really caught our eye and some of the stuff FlavaGolf has created is outstanding. Everything from putting two Jordan jerseys together to highlighting Takis has been done.

If you get a chance, scroll through some of his work. You can find FlavaGolf on Instagram here. You can also connect directly with his Etsy Shop here. For those wondering on the quality? It’s good. Really good actually.

How does our finished product look? What do you think?

If you have made it this far, you are probably wondering what all of this costs? The cover was $55 and the time it took from beginning to end was less than a couple of weeks. If you are a sports fan, or brand fan or just a fan of fun and unique covers, you owe it to yourself to check out FlavaGolf and see what Austin can create for you.
