A few of the courses I frequent have rough around the green that's quite fluffy. The ball will sit on top but my club will sink to the ground at address leaving the ball in the top 1/3 or 1/4 of the club face. The results vary - usually its higher and short. Is the only answer to place the ball up in my stance to get it on the upswing?

I'm usually grabbing my 50* or PW for this type of shot.

How should I be playing these shots?

Thanks!

Here's a Golf Digest tip from a couple months ago that might help. If the ball is sitting up on top of the rough, a sweeping shot like you're playing chimes is a good idea. If the ball is sitting down, you want to beat a drum:

Lets keep the Ask the Pro section clear until GolfTEC has had a chance to come in and respond. Thanks.
