What is acceptable to add to Mac and cheese and what is not?

Hamburger or chilly.

Depends on the Mac... I'd say lobster, but could be suspect.

any meat is fair game. any meat.

hamburger, sausage, fajita steak, ham, spam, italian meatballs, prosciutto, turkey, salmon, tuna, chicken, crab, crawfish, shrimp, lobster, scallops, hotdogs, bacon

I'll say bacon out of sheer principle, but nothing else.

Nothing.

hot dog cut into pieces (mostly for kids though)

Ham, bacon, some sun dried tomatoes... I imagine there's a lot more that would work!

pretty much anything. pasta and cheese as the medium, what clashes with that?!

Most meats, chilies, peppers.

Prefer it plain, but hotdogs are a good add.

Kale and quinoa. just kidding bacon and more cheese!!

Fruit Loops

someone give me the emoji face of horror!

It happened after a few too many cocktails.....

But it also wasn't as bad as you might think....

Shrimp & Chicken for me!!

Lots of great answers here, but my specific favorite has been smoked pulled pork that hasn't been hit with any BBQ sauce. Absolutely fantastic...

Lobsta
Bacon
Diced Tomatoes
Pancetta
Truffles

I used Mac and cheese as the carrier to get my son to eat his broccoli, so throw some trees in that Mac and cheese

Whatever you want, its your mac and cheese. For me, I could do tuna and peas. Its a classic. Chilli is good too.

I don't think there is anything that is unacceptable, but straight up Mac n Cheese is nearly always the best.

There is nothing classic about tuna and pea mac n cheese. That is just odd... but still acceptable.

Chili, hotdogs, bacon, more mac n cheese.

Hot sauce. Some is good. More is better.
