the freakshow cab has been around for awhile. my mom loves the petite petit. they're really fun wines, not for everyone though.

Might need to try that one.

Have an aerator which I figured would open it up a bit more.....it’s really smooth and exactly what it says in “lengthy finish”. Really quite solid

Wife says red wine is giving her heartburn lately. Anyone else have this issue?

Wife says red wine is giving her heartburn lately. Anyone else have this issue?

depends on so many different things.

it could be a wine with a higher acid content. that’s more typical in cooler climates, especially in europe. sometimes pinot can be a little more acidic.

it could be an additive in the wine. wines at several different price points contain additives to achieve any number of end results. and you as the consumer are never made aware of what was used.

if it’s a wine that has a little residual sugar (intended or not), that could do it.

personally as i get older i find wine is triggering my allergies. that doesn’t necessarily give me heartburn, just saying it could be something that has changed with her physically.

Some good, a couple really good, a lot of avg and a few below par. Kind of a mixed bag but a good price point that always keeps wine in my house lol

Tried this last night at a local wine bar. I think it may be the first Spanish wine I've tried.

We thought it was a real bargain a $16 a bottle. *

I laughed at the notes (92 on James Suckling) that read: "notes of lead pencil shavings". But after smelling it I was thinking "OK, I can see why he wrote that". It wouldn't have been the first thing I thought of if I hadn't read that phrase before I tasted it.

*The $26 sticker is what it would cost to open & drink it on the premises. Only $16 to take home, so that was a good surprise too!
