Oh, I'm deep in that hole, too. I'm hours into the analysis and it's preposterous. Postle's greed got the best of him. He must be the dumbest dude on the planet because this is exactly how they caught the Ultimate Bet cheater. He was winning so much and making such outlandish, correct reads. He was winning 65 big bets an hour over a year where as a highly successful player's win rate is somewhere between 5-10 bets an hour.

I'm paraphrasing here but someone in the analysis said it best. If you're the best in the world, you go and play with the best in the world. You don't only sit at the $1/$3 tables in Sacramento, you play in the biggest games with the highest stakes.

I saw a table somewhere with the normal distribution of BB wins. The UB scandal was significantly off the charts and then Postle’s rate was significantly greater than that.
I also read that the likelihood of his winning sessions with the cards he plays is less than 1 in the number of atoms in the universe. Now that is more than likely not a true calculation, but still it’s statistically impossible to be so many standard deviations from the normal distribution.

It’s unreal. I’ve spent hours now reading and watching YouTube breaks downs.
I know how I’ll be spending the next two hours on my flight to Dallas.

Cancel all your plans for the next week if you step into the 2+2 thread about it...
no kidding. 2+2 thread is like the length of the banter thread here.

Ok, so that 2+2 thread is close to 400 pages and I already came across several people trying to defend Postle. It's funny how the internet sleuths never fail to find these people's true identity. If I'm not mistaken, there was one person that is a Stones employee/color commentator.

It’s a **** show. I cannot read enough.

I haven't been following it. I watched one youtube vid a few months back about the accusations, but haven't followed up on it since. Now you guys have me all curious and stuff.

I'm pissed this story, which I don't care enough to follow, is taking away from my normal poker content.

I've lost several hours of my life following the Postle thing. The commentators from teh casino goign on and on about how amazing he is just makes it that much worse.

Living in Vegas, I play my fair share of live poker. At least twice a month. Mostly $10/$20 blinds, holdem poker.

I usually play for about 3-4 hours. Buy ins vary $100 to $500. Most of the time I am in the $200 group. I'm cheap. What can I say.

Luckily, my wife will sometimes make up my losses playing video slots. Other times I make up her losses

Pretty much the same table group most of the time. Always a couple of new players trying their luck.

As others have posted, like golf, some days (evenings) are better than others. I can usually tell after a bunch of hands, how the cards will run for me.

On another note, I have a nephew who makes a decent living playing live game cards. That's all he does. He plays big money tournaments, and usually leaves with a sizeable high finish. Again, like golf his semi pro play is alot different than my amateur play. .

I don't even play Poker and I'm stuck in this Rabbit hole now! There goes my Thursday. :D

While I would agree generally, I really have no interest in playing a table full of sharks. My goal is to make money and if my +ev is to play lower limits with the fish then that is where I would play. +65BB/hr is crazy and unless it was a 1 or 2 day heater it would be a obvious sign of something amiss.

I used to watch High stakes poker and just don't see the lure of trying to get money from the best players in the game.
Usually the money is coming from 1 or 2 spots at the table unless its a crazy table.

I am also risk averse and I don't play poker to GAMBLE if I wanted to take the worst odds I would go play craps or other table games.

Watching this fiasco now. First question. Why in the hell would you allow electronics at any gaming table? WTF?

And here's the smoking gun. Postle frantically wipes his cards across the scanner again and again when he should have no idea that the scanner is not working and only 2 of 4 cards are showing for all players.

Definitely something shady there. I don't know why people think they will get away with this stuff.
I didn't like that he kept looking at his lap when he's in the middle of a hand. isn't there a no phone during the hand rule?

Ughhh got beat tonight playing at a buddies house, has Ace king suited, flopped queen King 7 or something.. back and forth bets end up all in, friend had pocket Jack's...

Turn nothing... River = J

But rather lose to a buddy than some jerkoff in a casino

I have a group I have played with for 35 years...More social than $. 32 years ago we started our annual poker golf getaway....

When my friends and I were basically kids (18-22) we had a regular game going and it was so much fun. We'd play tournament style just like $25 buy in. I don't like to gamble a lot of money, but enjoy playing poker. It'd be fun to get a game like this going again but I haven't really met anyone that plays since.

Used to host tournaments at the house a few times a year. Most I ever had was 38 players. Decided it was too stressful to host and play at the same time. Do miss it though.
