Good luck man. I can relate to the feeling somewhat. My father had a really major procedure done this past fall. Modern medicine can work miracles.

I played in a charity golf tournament today and bought some raffle tickets. I won an autographed Earl Campbell Texas jersey. Now I have no idea what to do with it. Not a huge NFL fan, not a Texas fan.

I’m not sure this helps, but something similar happened to me at an art auction a few years ago. It was a basically a very close up picture of a random plant. I had no use for it.
So I took it to my law office and anytime someone did something wrong in the office, they would get the picture in their office. It was like a dunce cap. It became a whole team building thing.

Years ago I worked for an old Vegas firm that has since been bought out by a regional firm and disappeared. But before that happened, the firm was full of strange bits of historical Vegas. One such thing was a portrait of a former Playboy model turned Vegas entertainer. It was a 3/4 shot that emphasized her ample bosoms.
The picture was painted in the late 70s and hung outside her venue (as I understand it). Then when that particular casino was imploded or sold or something, one of the old time partners was given some of the old memorabilia, including that portrait. It sat undisturbed for probably 20 years until someone found it in the mid-2000s and we began placing it people's offices under similar circumstances as your story. Then we merged with the large regional firm and someone placed it in the elevator lobby so it was the first thing you saw in the morning. Some bigwig had a big client meeting early that morning and saw it first thing. Sadly, the portrait disappeared after that.

So my old manager and our team's cash and controls (accounting) manager is moving to a new team in securities, I have been asked by no less than 10 people in the last 15 minutes since the email came out if I am going to try for the job. For the tiny raise, the stress, and the awful team left over there I would have to manager. NO THANKS!
