I am amazed at Arrow's ability to sleep right through all the construction noise. But at 2, 3 and 4:30 this morning when there was no noise, he felt compelled to jump out of bed and bark at nothing, giving me a small heart attack each time.

This is him right now fast asleep in my lap just snoring away.

Some good news from VERY BAD NEWS!

Our Aussie was diagnosed with cancer in May 2018 after a surgery for a spleen related tumor. The vet offered chemo to keep her alive for what he predicted to be...at most...6 weeks. We declined the chemo because it's horribly expensive, the dog is miserable, AND we've been down that road before and it didn't work.

So my wife spent hours researching preventative measures for cancer. After a mountain of time, she created a very specific diet for our Aussie. Folks, I'm here to tell you our Aussie is not only still alive, she's energetic and going to the dog park every day...playing like there's nothing wrong. We are amazed, and the vet wants us to come back to see if the cancer is gone, but we frankly don't want to know because it doesn't matter. I remember thinking she'll never see another Halloween. She did....along with Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and 2019, working on Valentine's Day now!

My wife is in the process of writing a short book to publish that will hopefully help millions of dogs, cats, and who knows what other pets.

A little late, but so sorry about Raul, @Jdtox. It's always too soon, but 17 is a good long life.
 
We got my chocolate labs ashes back yesterday. A really nice urn/box and they pull a few tuffs of hair before the cremation. She will go next to her brother out by the rose bush in the spring.

First our oldest dog and now our youngest dog will jump up into our Bay window and lay there and sleep as well as bark at whatever is outside. The oldest one has retired from jumping up there anymore.
 
Mom sends me a photo of Snow, look who's enjoying winter. It seems like he will have fun burying his dog toys again.

Doggos and I went for a ride today and now they are cuddling on the couch. Love them.

Wife is really towing the line on getting another dog, one that is a bit better with Cal (Zeke man at his age is a bit... not interested). A dog that he could hang with, lay with, whatever. Thinking something bigger like in the 30-50 pound range.

Kind of scary/fun/exciting idea and I'm open to it. We'll see what the next few weeks bring. The idea of rescuing another dog gives me happy feels.

Dude, we were bros almost instantly.

Also, that dog has like a billion places to lounge and love life at THP HQ. Even if I wanted to "borrow" him he'd probably laugh at my offer.
 
He enjoyed some Canadan time. I’m a huge fan of shelter dogs, mixed breeds for temperament.
