That's awesome @LLIB hopefully you'll get to adopt him.

We lost our 13 year old boy last month while we were in San Antonio. Cheech was an Applehead Chihuahua with tons of personality. About 7 years ago, he started acting strange (lethargic, drinking alot, peeing all over the house.) We took him to the vet and he was full on diabetic. He needed 8 units of insulin twice a day. Between then and now, he went completely blind. But the little guy never stopped wagging his tail and was always wherever we were. And our Chiweenie, Roxy was sort of his guide. Recently, my wife and I decided we needed another dog to keep Roxy company. So we went to the same shelter we got Roxy from, and found our new family member. We named him Romeo, and he's a 4 year old Puggle. I would have never thought we'd find such a sweet, well behaved dog from the shelter as him. But man... look at this face!!

Roxy wasn't so sure about him at first. But they're like best buds now.

My wife and I had to make the very tough decision this morning to return Luka to her foster mom. She is a beautiful, intelligent dog, but our current dog, Jax, is terrified of Luka to the point where he would rather be upstairs than downstairs with her. Luka needs a rough and tumble playmate and Jax unfortunately does not fit the bill. The foster mom checked in with my wife every few days and received updates and knew this was a probability. We tried everything we could to get them to be buddies but they weren’t jelling. We are lucky that she can go back to a loving family for the time being. The foster mom completely understands our thoughts which makes it a bit easier. We feel bad but this is for the best of both dogs. Jax has been in our life for almost 4 years and to see him sink inside of a shell is painful to see. We’ve rescued/adopted six different dogs in our 21 years together so this is a first for us. Hopefully we can find a great match for Jax soon.

That’s a tough one. I get it and it is not a good situation for your existing dog. I saw a friend go through this but he kept the dog. His original dog is a shell of who she used to be. Sad to see.

I passed him early on my way to a doctors appointment and I didn’t have time to stop and get him. I told myself if he was still there on the way back through I would pick him up. I didn’t think there would be a chance in hell he would be there but he was laying on the edge of the road in a really bad spot. I thought for sure someone had hit him but I didn’t see blood or anything and when I got about 3 feet from him he finally raised his head. He was like a limp noodle when I picked him up, he had completely given up

Thanks for sharing. You have restored my faith in humanity for today.

He deserved a chance, that’s all I was trying to give him.

The shelter posted a video on their Facebook page. He’s eating and up walking around, albeit limping. He tested negative for heart worms. They think he has some tick diseases but nothing life threatening. He should make a full recovery.

Good on you for saving him! Hopefully he finds a happy home with you.

He should make a full recovery.

He is a beauty, I'd happily fly over and pick him up.

My wife says we have enough dogs here, so I will not be coming.....and our quarantine laws make it unfair on the dog.

This girl is one today!!!

Bubba, shelter rescue. He's a Walker Hound, one of two hound dogs we have. Very good pets, just a bit barky when not being lazy.

We lucked out with ours. She rarely barks. If she does it means there’s another dog on our property or multiple deer

Well it's official, 2 doggos now

Had to say goodbye to my parents sweet, sweet dog this morning. Cancer is already terrible, in pets it’s just not fair.

Sweet dreams Bailey. Miss you already.

Sorry to hear that. Looks like a sweetheart.

Sorry to hear that, she was beautiful.

This is Delilah, my doggo since 2011. In May 2018 she had surgery to remove her left eye due to glaucoma. I took her to the vet today, and so far there's been no indication of pressure buildup in her remaining eye. She's through the highest likelihood of glaucoma in her remaining eye, so knock on wood she'll be still catching fatty chunks of steak I send her way.

This one sure stings. I shouldn't ever play favorites but in a lifetime of owning dogs, Clyde was the very best of them all.
