Well, its Jack Nicklaus, so I imagine there will be a lot of forced carries, bunkers, and it will be set up for a high fade. I've also heard he wants to do away with any uphill shots.

There’s like.. 4 holes that are uphill shots.

Freakin Jack. It’s a college golf course that probably gets as much, if not more play than Hilaman. Let’s try and keep pace of play relative to the quality of skill level in mind.

A good tee shot on 1 leaves a slightly uphill approach. 4th tee shot has to go over the hill, but it runs away from you once you get over and the second is downhillish. 6 is the uphill par 3. 10th tee shot is a little uphillish, but flattens out around 290 from the middle tees. Approach on 12 is uphil. Tee shot on 15 is the par 5 over water to an uphill fairway. 16 is uphillish, but flattens out and runs away from the dog leg. 18 is considerably downhill off the tee, but uphill the rest of the way in. From some of the stakes I saw when they were out there surveying, its going to be completely different and rerouted.

To me the big “uphills” were 6, 12,15,18. 4 the tee shot was, but it was never in play for very long.

Jack’s gonna ruin that course and then make it unaffordable for college students. Nice work

When you only carry your tee shot to the moguls at the top of the hill on 4, they're in play.

Edit: Especially when you always land into the upslope of the moguls, never the backside for a little help.

I'll never understand how such a little guy can move the ball as far as you do... :alien:

he has a lot of anger

This week has been more irritating than normal. Go in for a root canal, find out since they’re a specialist, they’re not covered the same way as a general dentist. That.. was a rude discovery.

Could have driven a par 5 that day I was so friggin mad. I was informed my language, albeit in a calm tone, was quite vulgar.

AP Human Geography kids take their AP test today, the last day of school. I've been calm all week, but man I woke up nervous.

Mine took that one this morning. She had been running practice tests for the past three weeks at home, and said that it wasn't too bad. We'll see in July. ;)

Why do most people that fly get so anxious about everything? Anxious getting dropped off, at ticket or baggage lane, through and at security, after security, at the gate, prior to boarding and feel the need to stand at the priority line when your boarding pass clearly says zone 1-2-3-4 etc.....trust me if your in first class you typically know and if you fly a lot and have status with an airline you know you're next. Just dont understand the anxiety some people experience cause of travel....hmm.

I'm always afraid that security is going to take forever. People who crowd the boarding area when it's not their turn make me nuts. I don't mind the Southwest cattle call as long as I remember to check in on time!

is it bad that I had to google that song? maybe I'm too young

Does this help?

Elle a un sourire qui me semble
Me rappelle des souvenirs d'enfance

I'm sure that you guys started earlier than schools around here, but things around here don't finish until the third week of June. I can't wait until local traffic in the morning lightens up.

Also, I had to look up Human Geography. We didn't have that back in my day!

I feel like all of the schools start leaping ahead a bit once kids reach middle school. My son took 4 high school classes in 8th grade and as a result, he’s on an even more accelerated track for high school. I feel like they don’t have time to breathe. He almost ended up in the science and math high school where they take both AP Chemistry and AP Physics their freshman year. *shudder* Thank goodness his number didn’t get pulled in that lottery.

Keep up the good work man.

Holy moly...freshman year? I had regular physics junior year and AP Chem senior year and that was back when I was smart (20 years ago)

It is a crazy school. #1 in the state, #31 nationally, about 900 students with a 17:1 student teacher ratio. There are 23 other high schools in the county and the student population ranges from 2400 to 5500 per school. You have to qualify for admission through testing and grades in advanced track classes...then you and 750 other kids apply for the lottery and roughly 350 spots open per year. My son’s number was 561. He really wanted to go but I’m a bit relieved.

Alyssa and I are flying into Kansas City, MO on a Friday morning in July for a wedding. Anyone have any advice on things to do or see during the day in Kansas City?

We have plans of going to the Royals game Friday night. So we're also interested in where we should look to stay. I have free nights at either Marriott or IHG properties, but that isn't necessarily a requirement, if another place makes more sense. So @smallville or any other KC THPers; any advice for us? Thanks in advance.

Back issues suck! I am going stir crazy with only being able to play 9 this week on Monday after averaging 5 - 6 rounds per week this year. Trying to be patient and not rush back out there, especially with the Hogan event in 4 weeks.

Yes they do Sox, yes they do. Get better soon!

Sending happy thoughts to your back! Hopefully you'll feel better soon. Have you tried an infrared heating pad? Several people I know swear by them for back issues, but I don't have any personal experience with them.

I have not but will look into it. Thanks for the info!

Weather forecast has been t-storms for days and days and days. Woke up to a Houston-esque torrential downpour, but it ended quickly and the weather said it was going to be clear until around 8 pm. So we thought to try to play around 1. Another 15 minute rain storm popped up just now. Skies are already blue with big fluffy white marshmallows parading around. We're aiming for after 4 now, with our fingers crossed...

Hopefully my rib holds up O_O

Of course now it's raining again, while the sun is shining.

And if anyone says that horrible, horrible, horrendous saying "that means the devil is beating his wife" then I will beat them...

They definitely do. I've been battling an issue with my lower back and it's made golf a challenge. Good luck with it!

Got a pedicure today for the first time and quite honestly I am not sure why I never did this before. My feet feel amazing and they removed a ton of the callous skin that make it uncomfortable after walking 18.
