Limits for golf clubs

Aren’t there USGA imposed limits on golf clubs as how much ball speed is created? I saw an advertisement on a set of irons that claimed ball speed increase of 1.25 mph. Am I missing something?

Nope. Restrictions are on the COR (coefficient of restitution) in fairways, irons, and hybrids. For drivers it’s CT (characteristic time).

It’s all about face rebound/spring, but there is more than just that which goes into ball speed.
