Has anyone gone to graphite shafts and then went back to steel?

Been playing Recoil 125s for ages now and launch the ball quite high with them - spin #s on those have always been on the high side. Trying out a set of Accra 90is now and they seem to launch lower but haven't hit a sim to test out spin numbers. All that said, I was hitting a friends set of AP2s with Project x PXi irons and they were incredible. So much so that I'm debating on switching back. They felt so smooth but they look like they peak higher than my Recoils.

I get better distance control out of steel... sometime's I nuke the occasional shot over the green with graphite and sit in the FW with astonishment on how that was possible

What in the world graphite are you using?

I’ve played a lot lot lot of them, and never had that situation occur so I’m curious.
