Does anyone use something like this? Thinking about getting one for the back yard to be able to get more practice in.

I have one of the Hank Haney nets, as well as a small hitting mat.

As good as it is to hit balls in the offseason, I generally feel the mat hides contact issue. When I asked at a lesson, it was recommended that I just take swings, keep limber, keep the muscle memory, and omit the ball entirely.

A net is great if you're trying to groove a "Known" move. If you groove a swing without knowing what it really does, it could mean more trouble than it's worth.
I think actually hitting a ball is better than just swinging. Some people may get "ball" fright; can't make the same swing on the ball as they do "just a swing".

Just don't get carried away with hitting into a net without getting some kind of verification, be it actual flight or some kind of swing aid. JMHO.
