Ok, so I have 4 imaginary players. They all keep their scores and they all play by the RoG to the best of their abilities. They hit provisionals when necessary and have all made the walk of shame when they didn't hit one and couldn't find their ball. Once or twice, this year, they may have taken the 2 stroke penalty in the fairway for a ball that was lost even though they're not sure if the course had officially invoked that local rule.

However, even though they all keep their scores, none of them keep the actual cards after the rounds are finished. Player A only tracks how many rounds he plays in the 70's, 80's, 90's, and 100+. Player B does similar, but he tracks 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95-99, and 100+. Player C tracks 75-81, 82-88, 89-92, and 93-102. Player D likes to be different so he tracks differentials 0-10, 10-15, 15-20, and 20+ (there were none that landed directly on 10, 15, or 20).

So, given the numbers below, which golfer would you say is best?

I'm voting for Player A

He has more consistent rounds in the 80's & even a few times in the 70's. Also only 1 time in the 100's. Which incidentally, I don't know how you can shoot in the 70's a few times but then turn around and shoot in the 100's

They're all the same player.

Looked again ... agreed it's all about perspective. They are all the same player.
I jumped the gun earlier and didn't look at it closely :act-up:

Player A and B have identical stats...come to think of it they all do.

I choose the Player.

Ok, ok, you got me. They are all the same player. They're my scores. I was just looking at 2019's scores and figured I'd dig into them a bit. This is the first year I've had multiple rounds in the 70's. I had one in 2005ish and one in 2010. I've had 3 this year (so far). I'm almost as proud of the 23 rounds from 82-88 as I am of the other stats. At least I know I'm playing relatively consistently.

The 70's rounds have all been in the past 3 months. One each in May, June, and July. As for that 100+, it was in Texas in January with 20-30mph winds on a course that I've never played. @donny475 (I think that's his name here) will contest to the conditions that day. It was "aim 20y right of the fairway so you can end up in the left hand rough" conditions.

The 80's are my comfort zone, for better or worse. I don't know how many times I'll shoot a 39-41 on the front and then screw up the back to end up mid-80's or how many times I'll shoot mid-40's front and then a low-40's or upper-30's back to bring it back to respectable.

It was also the day of your son's wreck back home......nothing like getting that kind of call between 8 green and 9 tee box

Yeah, you got that right. All turned out fine, the boys weren't hurt at all, the other party wasn't hurt, the ticket was dropped when the other party didn't show on the court date, they totaled my truck just because the front couple of inches of frame rail was twisted/mangled, but I bought it back and I've been driving it ever since. I'm still naked up front though since I haven't been able to find someone to fab me a bumper for it and a stock bumper won't fit since the mounting bracket was mangled, too. It's the least of my worries though.

None of the are very good

I have a headache now.

Player A’s mode seems to be in the lower groupings of scores.
