THP Handicap Watch & Update Thread

bro, that is outrageous.

To be fair...I didn’t keep an official one in 2017/2018 as it has hovered around 7 since 2016 and I never play any tournaments so didn’t really matter to me.

But the real problem here is I just don’t play enough golf. I have 18 rounds posted this year, completely unacceptable

Well, this is the best official handicap that I've ever seen. Look at that! My last 5 scores all going toward the handicap. I knew I was on a roll, but wow...

For some of you with better handicaps, post up your last 20 scores, if you will. I know it doesn't tell the whole story unless you have the differentials, but it'll give me an idea what I've gotta do to get this thing going lower.

Better get back down here.

Down a whopping .1 to get to 22

Progress is progress. I've been going backwards for 3 revisions prior to this one. Good work.

haha thanks dude. I need to get back out there after basically a week and a half off. Would love to really take a run at the PB before fall hits.

Thanks. That was kind of tongue-in-cheek. It was such a small change I didn’t even notice it at first. I’ll take it though

8.0 -> 7.6. The comeback begins....

Holding steady in the low 5's. Need to get back to the 3's...

Big jump down to 7.9 from 9.7. Have a few higher scores in the past 20, so need to continue the high 70's I've been putting in so it stabilizes but stays in the single digits!

First official handicap. All uphill from here. 36.4.

It’ll come. I started the year at 36. I’m a 22 now. The goal is to get under 20 by the end of the season

up a little bit more to 6.3

My goal was 25 by end of year. Just need to practice consistently. Think I can do it as long as the holidays and weather don't get in the way.

I use The Grint. Notice the dramatic peaks and valleys.

I'd imagine that index is at 2.2 because the large majority of the counted rounds were played on our tips at 74.1/143.

Headed back up. 9.8. Time to have another good round already.

Can't quote right now because the forum is going bonkers, but here you go OGputtnfool. Thanks WMac19 for the idea on how to post it a little more anonymously.

Sad part about mine is that if you adjusted them for the courses it would be a fairly level line. I didn't quite realize that until now and can't say I'm loving it.

I'm up to 12.4 which is disappointing, should be much lower really. The only rounds that I can count towards official handicaps are competition rounds off the medal tees and I've had a couple of disasters in the last couple of months. Including practice rounds I should probably be at least a shot lower, but them's the rules.

Just bought some new irons and woods so hopefully once those are bedded in the trend will come down. Had aimed to be at 10 by the end of the year, but new target is single figures by the end of 2020.

I went from a 10.6 to a 10.1. I wish I felt good about it. I feel like I'm playing some really terrible golf right now.

So, I'm trending to a 9.1 right now. Gonna get down and dirty here in the next 2 weeks to a month. I'm about to drop a 6.7 and an 8.5 differential in the next 6 rounds.

Dropped from the Max 36 to 28.4 after round a couple weeks ago. Completely unofficial, not enough scores yet, but going in the correct direction. Had I played a full 18 the last round, I projected I would have dropped by 5 strokes from 97 to 92 on par 72. Not bad for only a second round. I have to get control of the penalty strokes.

Went and took my first lesson. Went awesome. Think I’ll move this thing down quickly for the next 6 months or so. Then have to start chipping away a little each 6-12 months thereafter.
