What's your plan when playing a new course for the first time?

No gameplan, just lower expectations.
 
I don't really go in with a game plan, just take it as it comes. Never have high expectations
 
I'll look up the course website and if they have a hole-by-hole, I'll read it.
 
I usually try to look it up online just to get an idea of what the layout might be. Then when I get there, I typically play with no expectations and just try to see where the best place off the tee would be to "miss" if necessary. The "no expectations" approach typically works out fairly well for me.
 
I'll dig around online to see if there are any pictures or flyover videos of the course just to see how it looks, maybe also to see if any holes I should pay close attention to which club to hit so I don't hit it too far through the fairway. Other than that I'll just scan the distances of the par 3s and total yardage to get the tees I should play from.
