So You Want Artisan Wedges with a Custom Fitting.

I imagine fellas that roll their eyes at a $300 wedge would stand in line for a $500 driver.

Sounds like money well spent for sure!

Next to the putter, for many of us who don't hit a high percentage in GIR, our wedges are the second most used clubs - I know that I use the SW and LW a lot from offf the green and from 90 yards and in.

Absolutely! Second most used club by a mile is my 60*!

Picked up the Artisans this morning in Ft. Worth. Have a look ... if you dare. Wedge Porn NSFW

Artisan Sole Grinds - Neutral/Picker

Notice the beveled leading edge.

Of course, I laid them out on the grass as I walked swiftly to the car to retrieve some golf balls. Removed the wrapping and the feel on several chips was pleasing - soft and solid. I was impressed. Would have gone to the short game area but John was fitting someone outside for a putter.

dude those are fire!!!

Currently saving up to do this. @Nate has a set and not only do they look good, but hearing him talk about the experience made me want to do this even more.

Thanks!!

And to think, next week I get Mizuno T22 Wedges. I attempted to get a similar grind and shaft as the Artisans.

When you lay them down at address, the leading edge sits down, which is what we need in the Southwest. I was in OK this week and played 9 holes with my client - the ground was tight and hard. This is where these will come in handy for me.

And if you look on page 1 here, you can read about my experience. Nate is a far better golfer than me ... and the Artisan fitter, Jamie, gave me one heckuva lesson - he is excellent.

Those look amazing, congrats @Desmond!! I'd love to get down there to do a fitting...

the lesson and attention to detail to make sure you get the wedges best for your game is what makes is so attractive.

Exactly. I learned a lot about not fitting myself. lol.

Former shafts were too heavy, too much leading edge off the ground, specs were not consistent. It all led to inconsistency.

Looking forward to playing the Artisans ... and the new Mizunos.

Those are so sweet. If I get to Dallas I may have to schedule a fitting. Wedges I have never really been fitted with and think it could benefit my game.

Jet Blue nonstop to DFW. Fairly inexpensive. I might be your cabbie.

got room for one more?! i want to do this in a bad way, but my wedge work with my instructor still isn't there yet.

The invite is always there for you. Pick up at gate, take you out there to the nether lands of Ft. Worth. Artisan has the old Nike short game area and is next door (walk across the grass) to Leonard's Driving Range.

Would the next person to get fit please tell those SOB’s to open a facility in Myrtle Beach!

Thank you in advance.

😁

this is all sorts of awesome. thanks for sharing your experience and those photos.

It's all about sharing the love... of wedges. :D

Awesome review @Desmond! If I live in Texas or near there I’d def check it out!

Those wedges look top notch. You’ll have so many options in the wedges now. Where you planning on testing the two side by side to compare at any point?

The Mizuno Experience would be a good place to compare.

Those look great @Desmond That didn't seem that long of a wait actually, all things considering.

Hope they bring you as much joy and fun to your game as they have to mine. Game changer really. Enjoy and don't be afraid to get those things dirty right off the bat!
