Ok, may book my flight this weekend. Now I need to buy a travel bag, any suggestions for a product to protect my clubs?

Check out the Ogio Mammoth travel bag, $289 retail but I found one of the bay for $159 like this just not that color.

I think the stiff arm is a separate item that you put in the bag. Or um.........stiff........

Yes stiff arm is something that slides in your bag like a club and protects them worth the $25-$30 price. As for a bag I would look to the same company who makes the stiff arm and that is Club Glove. ( www.clubglove.com) They are awesome bags and very durable. Like Kevin mentioned OGIO makes a great bag as well. You really can not go wrong with either company.

i bought the Ogio Monster for the trip but i haven't used it yet actually never travelled with my clubs via plane. i usually drive.... orlando is a little far

Is it May yet?

I'd recommend the bay for getting a travel bag. I bought mine for 50-60 bucks brand new and it worked just fine. I didn't buy the piece you put in the bag to protect the top, I just lined the bag with towels and a pillow at the top. It worked just fine as that was the pillow and towels I used where I was staying hehe.

Clubs came out just fine. No damage at all to the fairway woods or driver.

I got my travel bag on overstock.com. I got a pretty darn good deal on an Ogio soft side that way.
I still havent gotten my plane tickets yet. Seth, how long are we staying for?

Might te think driving lol

That's a monster of a bag and a great price as well. Way cheaper than some of the ones I have been looking at. I just may buy that.

Thanks all, from the look of that Ogio I will probably purchase that. Need to read some reviews first.

Outfits? I thought you were covering that for me?

Good time? Yes, I will bring it!

You are such a smart man Tadashi! Once I get that neck of mine fixed, OG is going to be staying in the woodshed chopping wood all the time. MaryC and I are temporarily on the disabled list but we will be better than new by May! Shake, rattle and roll. I like it!

Shake rattle and leave you some where between GA and Wildwood, Fl[/QUOTE]

Tadashi don't know nothing. I might whup him too! :deadhorse: I don't have time to fool around with you women folks. The Tower of Power has bigger prey on the menu to take down... Besides I get to play golf with you and MaryC all the time. I want some new bodies to take to the woodshed. :blob: You know folks like Oreo er Cookie and Herman er Frogman as they need a good whupping too.:beat-up:

For all the new folks coming to the Outing and Demo Day and a few folks who may be flying this time versus driving.

Every year about 100 days out, we get a bunch of folks wondering about how to get their clubs safely to the Outing, what type of travel cover to get, etc.

So, instead of each us chiming in, etc for several pages of posts, I am going to post links to the previous extensive discussions on travel covers, hard side vs soft side, the downside of traveling with OEM and his clubs, shipping vs checking, and how to pack your golf bag.

Also, there are a few us, myself included who have logged literally thousands of miles with our clubs, feel free to PM us if you have more questions!

I've used Luggageforward several times (along with two of their sister companies, Sportz Express and Virtual Bellhop) and been very happy.

Booking my flight today. Along with the flight I'll be booking a cruise for me and my family that leaves Port Canaveral on Monday after the outing. So I'm flying in on Thursday, doing it up THP Outing style and the wife and kids fly in Sunday. After my round on Sunday I'll depart Grand Cypress and go get the family and get ready for the cruise. A cruise isn't the perfect vacation but the convenience of this one with the timing of my trip to Orlando and us wanting to do a family trip just makes it work out perfectly. Hopefully this boat won't sink like that one in Italy.

So I'm in on Thursday at around 2pm and checking out Sunday...now I need a roommate!

Its folds up nicely when not in use too. It made it there and back last time. First bag that didnt get a wheel blown off or just eaten by the luggage monster for me in a while. Very nice bag.

Ok it's settled, I am going to set up some morning times on Thursday and afternoon rounds around 2pm. This way the Wednesday arrivals can get in a couple rounds on Thursday if they want.

Can't wait . I'm planning on showing up early to take in some extra FLA. golf.

Flights are locked and loaded for me. Had more miles than I thought I did on SW so me and my bags fly free. Well except for the $20 I paid to ensure Group A seating which is a must for SW imo. Thurs morning arrival and Mon night departure.
