THPers. I wanted to take the time to let everyone know about my experience playing a round at Bali Hai Golf Club in Las Vegas, NV. First off, I will let you know that we played it for $150(twilight rate) and teed off at 330PM. From the moment we arrived Bali Hai was nothing but class. They treated us as if we were high rollers and would highly recommend this course to anyone who is able to play it. Course was in great shape and we ever were given some free beer at the end of the round because it took so long for the cab to come pick us back up. I can say I have had the privilege of playing some higher end clubs throughout the US and this by far was the best service I had ever had at a golf course. I don't think I would have even considered playing this course if it wasn't for the twilight rate, but I am glad it happened because it was wonderful. I figured I was in for some good treatment when the course called me 3 days before our tee time to get everything set up with rentals. As soon as we showed up all the clubs and carts were ready for us to go to the range and we couldn't go more than 50 feet without some type of acknowledgement from some part of the staff. Bali Hai gets my gold star of approval and recommend to all to play.

That sounds amazing ! What were the rental clubs like?
I really would like to play when I get to Vegas eventually, going to keep this course in mind now !

Jeez, I don't know if I would spend that much money to play a golf course.

There is a short list of courses that I would pay the asking price for, but I am not sure that is one of them.

Im glad to hear you had a great time TPD! Wish I could afford it!

I love Bali Hai, I played it as part of my bachelor party last year and totally agree, they treat you first class. Glad you had a fun time.

Dont plan on playing any golf in Hawaii if you should go. Both course I played were in that same range.

Sounds like an awesome experience. I'd consider it if I ever went out there for sure.

I played the razr x hl irons and drivers. They also have the razr x forged just did not want to pay the extra cost for those.

Great write up OP. Played it last Nov and agree that the service was excellent. Course was easy but in great shape. Price is high and IMHO maybe good for a once of trip if you ever find yourselves bored in Vegas. Big downside was the noise from the constant air traffic; not just from the jets but from the helicopters buzzing ever few minutes...

My recollections of the course:
"Great resort course located 5 mins south of the main strip. Of the 3 Walter Golf properties, we ranked this first in terms of playabiity and second in terms of enjoyment. This as a very pretty course that (with the exeception of a few holes) didn't require too much length or too much accuracy off the tees. The greens played true and were the best of the 3 courses. The staff and service was on par with the best. Price is high @ $169 (we saved almost 45% by being the 2nd group out in the morning). One star deduction for the amount of noise from the airport traffic."

Sounds like an awesome experience. I'd consider it if I ever went to Hawaii for sure. Lots of courses out there I'd like to play.

This may be the funniest thing I have read in weeks.

Thanks for posting your thoughts on the experience TPD. I played Bali Hai 2 years ago (twilight was $99) and had the same experience with their great customer service and staff. They were all very friendly and very helpful. The course is outstanding as well!

Read the first post.

Wow. I just read what I wrote. Lol. I was speaking about Hawaii with my friend Brian over here. I'm glad I could give you a good laugh.

Some epic skimming in this thread.

Sure would be!

I also went there for a Super Bowl party and that was a ton of fun too, the facility is great, and well worth going for the overall experience.

Anybody played here lately? Tempted to play in a couple months since it's so close to the Strip.

I love Vegas golf. $150 is totally reasonable IMO for Bali Hai, even in the hot season. I can spend that much tomorrow on a local course near me and will probabaly lose a ball or two due to plugging. I was there this time last year and played Wolf Creek, it was awesome and totally worth the 45 mnute drive. I would love to go to Vegas/Mesquite and spend a week or so playing all the courses, especially the Paiute Golf courses I have heard sop much about. I'm not much of a gambler and wouldn't even mind if I never saw a casino.

I think $99 is the summer twilight rate which ain't bad considering it's next to Mandalay.

The Pauite courses have wonderful layouts, but I've vowed never to go back after the three times I got blown off the course...literally. Winds in the 40 mph range are common place. I had a friend who was out there last week and tried it again when the forecast called for "light and variable" winds. They were neither. He ended up quitting the middle of his second round because the winds blew all the fun away. On a calm day a trip out to Pautie would be awesome, but I'm not sure they have any.

I played 36 at Pauite then Wolf Creek the next day, best weekend of golfing in my life

Bali hai is a fun track best played after 3pm because of the heat. $99 is a good fee to pay, it'll be empty so you can fly

I played Pauite last year. I played 3 rounds over 3 days. We teed off at 8:30 every day. The first two days were great. No real wind to speak of. The third day was absolutely miserable. I would have walked off the course if it wasn't a tournament.

This is a yearly even that about 160 of us go on. Last year being my first, I asked other players that go often if this was the norm. They all said the third day was the exception most years. I guess the last week of August is one of the calmer periods. If it is windy more than one day this year, this year may be my last.
