The event starts this week and I wanted to start a new thread with the official run down of every club that will be featured in this one. We think we have a loaded field of the best hybrids made on the market and we want to thank each company for sending them in for testing.

We have 18 testers set up starting this week and will have tons of pictures and thoughts as well. We have broken this one down the same way as our other Shoot Outs

6 Testers - Low Handicaps - Scratch to 4 Handicap and most are teaching professionals
6 Testers - Mid Handicaps - 8 to 15 handicap and most are weekly players
6 Testers - High Handicaps - Over 20 and are looking for an edge.

Bridgestone J36 Hybrid

Categories for these tests are:
Looks - Personal preference on the appearance
Feel - Personal opinion on how these clubs felt overall
Distance - Measured by Testing crew based on outcome
Accuracy - Based on measurements to fairway center
Overall - The sum of these categories.

Let us know your thoughts and predictions. If your favorite club is not listed, it is because the company was invited and decided not to participate.
 
I am really looking forward to seeing the results. I think Nickent will have a strong showing because each level of player will find something they like.
 
What's the general loft range of the club collection?
 
good question brandon...go tm rescue! haha but i shouldnt even tempt myself with the results of this though, im "satisfied" with my 19*! :laugh:

I didn't see the Nickent 4DX or 3DX RC Ironwoods in the lineup? :confused2:

It says in the post that "not all hybrids in the shoot out are pictured here". They are in the event and will be pictured in future pictures.
 
heres a prediction that the Nickent 5DX WILL NOT win.

Why would i say such a thing......well i reckon that because of the wings, it will score low on the looks category. Performance will be good though, and it will definately be long (it cheats by calling a 18.5 a 3 iron....when the 4dx and most other brands are 20* or around that).

I reckon the 4dx, taylormade or cobra will be at the top for low cappers and mid cappers. replace the 4dx with the 3dx for high cappers.


i personally hope the nickent brand wins with either the 4dx or 5dx.
 
I'd love to be a tester in this, the last time I hit a few hybrids I was left feeling that they weren't for me(pull hooked them all).
 
Maybe you should take a few days and head down to Tampa Craig!

As a matter of fact, I came 15" from an ace using this club for the first time yesterday...
1 practice swing and then my second swing of this club and 181 yards later I was only 15" away from my first ace....Start of a good friendship..

No Callaways? Sheesh looks like i'm going to have to give up on an all Callaway bag......anyone hear or test or use any of the Diablo hybrids?

JB - I'm starting to think some people just look at the pretty pictures and skip over your posts.

My ex BIL has one and he hit it pretty well last weekend when we played. With him, it was a no-brainer since he has nothing but Callaway clubs except for the putter.
 
What do you do with all the hybrids after you do the shootout?
 
Most go back to the companies. There are a few that are kept for giveaways on the site.
