It's Friday night so we'll be going to this nice little sports bar that has fantastic prime rib. Add a Jack n seven and were good to go.

The key word there "was" as in I was going to treat. RI is a short ride from here. The boys and I can go on our own.

Peeps is having lamb chops again and I'm having T-Bone one the grill.........
 
Pan roasted bone-in filet and grilled shrimp with Italian salsa verde and polenta. Hit the green with the steak, shrimp, and sauce, left the polenta in the bunker.

Esox - Polenta is like risotto - it takes a lot of tries to get it right. There is one instant kind that is fairly good. I can't remember the brand, but they sell it at Whole Foods.

Yeah, this was a little grainy, thickened up too quickly and it wasn't an instant. I'm quite good at risotto, but you're right, that took some practice. I should have made risotto tonight. I don't do a lot of extensive cooking in the spring and summer, my business is busier and we spend a lot time at the golf course, but I'll do a lot of cooking over the next five months.

Im making jerk pork tenderloins tonight with black beans and white rice. I am going to make either a mango or pineapple bbq sauce to drizzle over it. Ill be pairing this with Kool Aid Tropical Punch. :act-up:
 
I'm having fried shrimp and brussel sprouts. A nice healthy meal. LOL. Oh, and I forgot. Washing it down with a beer.

Sounds like you have some talent in the kitchen. You should post some pictures once in a while. I love pictures of food. Not as much as eating the real thing, but you probably know what I mean.

What I mean is, I enjoy seeing a picture of a creative dish that someone made. I don't page through magazines looking at food pictures. Gasman has talked about a number of dishes that sound great, and it would interest me to see a picture.

I'm real handy in the kitchen, but mechanical, not overly creative, and my presentation generally sucks. I have a couple chef friends and their creativity and the way they utilize flavors always amazes me.

We made his and her lasagna tonight. His has real sausage and lots and lots of cheese. Hers has turkey sausage and lots and lots of veggies with very little cheese. His was 5 layers and hers was 2.

I experiment in the kitchen. It's more fun that way. Start off with a minor change like adding 1 spice instead of another and then go from there.

If it looks good on the plate sometimes I will snap a picture. Its hard to get black beans to look pretty on a plate unless you puree or refry them. I do like looking at others food too though.
