First enjoyable golf memories

My first golf memory was with one of my best friends in high school. An older couple was having a garage sale so we stopped by. He was selling his golf clubs, so Jon bought them (his mom was home so he had access to 10 bucks!) It was a complete set of some brand, woods, irons, putter and balls were all in the bag. We headed up to the practice football field and stood on either end under the goal posts and took turns hitting balls, trying to get a goal post in one! We spent hours playing that made up game that day.

I was going to start a similar thread but found this searching.

My best memories come from playing golf with my dad. From starting me in golf at age 16 at the Cane Patch par 3 in Myrtle Beach to my first time breaking 80 about 4 years later.

He wasn't big on golf but enjoyed playing and we had some good times on the course. I wish we could still hit the links together.
