THIS IS A PRESS RELEASE

SRIXON® INTRODUCES NEW Z-STAR™ AND Z-STAR™ X TOUR YELLOW GOLF BALLS

Srixon® Sports, a leader in golf ball technology, is pleased to announce the launch of the new Z-STAR™ and Z-STAR™ X Tour Yellow golf balls. The Z-STAR™ and Z-STAR™ X Tour Yellow line of golf balls were developed by Srixon® Sports’ Research and Development team as an enhancement to the current tour offering, the Z-STAR™ and Z-STAR™ X. By tapping into the psychology of hitting each shot and the visualization and calming effect at address, the Z-STAR™ and Z-STAR™ X Tour Yellow golf balls incorporate the science of visual perception with the psychology of color effect on the human brain. Science has proven that yellow is the most visible color in the visual spectrum and psychology has correlated green with calming and stress relief; therefore Srixon® has combined the two colors based on these findings to tap into the player’s mind and expand the benefits of playing a better ball. The Z-STAR™ and Z-STAR™ X Tour Yellow golf balls were designed to offer best-in-category performance for players seeking the improved distance, spin, and feel preferred by Tour players and competitive golfers worldwide. The Z-STAR™ and Z-STAR™ X Tour Yellow golf balls use ultra-thin urethane cover technology, a larger core and a softer cover to also radically improve distance, spin and feel.

PGA TOUR professionals Vijay Singh and Jim Furyk, as well as a worldwide contingent of professional golfers are currently playing the Z-STAR™ and Z-STAR™ X series of golf balls. Tour victories for the Z-STAR™ ball series include Henrik Stenson’s victories at the 2008 Nedbank Golf Challenge and the 2008 Omega Mission Hills World Cup, as well as Tim Clark’s win at the 2008 Australian Open, John Rollins victory at the 2009 Reno-Tahoe Open and Jim Furyk’s win at the 2009 Chevron World Challenge.

“The new Z-STAR™ and Z-STAR™ X Tour Yellow golf balls are currently being tested by numerous PGA and Nationwide TOUR players, who are presently playing the Srixon® Z-STAR™ series of balls,” said Chris Beck, Brand Manager for Srixon®. “The response from our tour staffers has been overwhelmingly positive. We understand that players at all levels of the game want to lower their scores and the Tour Yellow balls have definitely peaked the interest of our tour players, as well as consumers.”

The Z-STAR™ Tour Yellow golf ball is designed to be the best-balanced golf ball for the low-to-mid handicap players, seeking a combination of long distance, spin control and soft feel. The Z-STAR™ X Tour Yellow golf ball is a distance-oriented tour-performance ball for players looking for explosive distance and high-spin performance around the greens. The Srixon® Z-STAR™ Tour Yellow ball lines both feature new Energetic Gradient Growth™ core technology, which promotes increased ball speed, as well as high launch and low spin. Their newly developed 324 large seamless dimples also help reduce wind resistance for increased distance, while the new coating on their super-soft urethane cover significantly improves spin performance from the rough, allowing players to go after the pin from any lie.

The Z-STAR™ and Z-STAR™ X Tour Yellow golf balls will begin shipping to retailers on April 1, 2010 and will carry a MAP price of $39.99.

should be great for the last couple holes when it's getting dark!

I'm not sure about colored balls any other time though

I can't wait to see the first player to put these in play... If a methodical guy like Furyk games them, I will immediately go to Dicks and buy a box...

We got word at the show that quite a few tour players actually liked the ability to see them, but at a tour event, they have spotters and it really is not needed. However if you play at dusk, or early in the am, these could be helpfull.

What kind of yellow are these? Sunshine yellow? Mustard yellow? Fluroescent yellow?

I just love yellow balls for spring dandelion enriched courses

I could definitely use those. One, I play late in the day due to the Florida heat and two, I find myself always needing to find my shots in precarious places. Good idea Srixon.

My wife has a colorful collection of golf balls & I have used a few of them. I hate the pink & the yellow ones. For some reason to me they hide really well in any sort of even mild rough.

What's weird is she has some mint green colored ones & those I can find easily for some reason.

BTW, if you want a cool yellow ball, give these a shot.

I would love these on cloudier/overcast days.

During the summer here though, all the grass (fairways included) are yellow...

Reminds me of the Pinnacle Golds I used to game back in high school. I always tried to keep some of the yellow ones around, liked how they were easier to track in flight.

Thats pretty cool how they studied how color effects psychology and came up with a color combination that has a calming effect.

I played with a young girl playing one of those SpongeBob Skortpants balls and they were actually pretty easy to see.

I also carried a couple of yellow balls for dusk conditions. Now, I find quite a few colored balls on the course. I save them all for my grandaughters. They play and they love the colored balls. I send them a care package every so often with a bunch in it.

I play yellow balls when ever I have them. Just easier for me to see them. Plus when playing with others who are using white balls, there is never a doubt what is mine, and what is theirs. My shag bag is full of yellow practice balls. Again it makes identification easier when sharing a green during practice.

These look nice. I'd play these if I didn't have my pink ones!

Splendid idea. I always prefred them but had no guts to actualy play them. Now with Srixon behind I will do it.

I miss the orange balls I used to play with in my teens. They were really fun to find in the fall amongst the leaves!

The ball seems to be working too, the Srixon players are doing quite well with it.

I bet in Florida that would be a great color golf ball to use.

Re: Srixon Releases New Yellow Golf Balls

I'm really anxious to give these balls a try. Over the past two weeks I have been on a mission testing various different high end balls seeing if they made a difference in my game. So far I have tested prov1 prov1x callaway 1z, bridgestone tour b330 and b330s and lastly the Srixon zstarX. Picked up a sleeve of each and put them to play 9 holes each.

So far my favorite ball by far is the zstarx. I absolutely love these and was very impressed by the distance, spin, and how they felt on the green. May have to pickup the yellow ones so they calm me down mentally haha.
