Other side of the state, this one is just north of Pittsburgh I believe
Ahh, that works as well. Flights wouldn't be an issue with Pitt either.
Yeah, can even fly into Cleveland or Canton/Akron if its way cheaper and you dont mind a little drive

Big fan of the golf course options in Williamsburg. tons of great ones at really solid prices.
Williamsburg, VA would be spectacular! Kingsmill and Golden Horseshoe are pretty awesome courses in the area. In general a pretty easy area to get to with Airports in Norfolk and Richmond. Not the biggest airports, but Richmond is at least super easy to get in and out of.
Duffs in Amherst/Buffalo, NY. The best you'll ever get.Point me in the direction of good Buffalo wings...
Heck, Im a huge fan of the Royal New Kent course.....freaking tough too
I wanted to take some time to put some thought into this. At first, I just wanted to blurt out my answers, but I decided to back things up with a bit of THP research (although that research is quite brief).
First, I recommend Iowa. Yes, I'm biased, I live here, but Iowa seems to get pretty good showings. The first official THP event (at least since I became a member here) was September of 2012. Reviewing that thread, I see we had 33 in attendance. If you take JB and GG out, that's 31. But even so, let's look a little deeper (but not including JB and GG for purposes of these statistics). Of the 31, I believe 26 were not from Iowa (27 if you include the fact that Hawk lives on the wrong side of the Mississippi River). Within that list, I count at least 20 that I know for sure are albatross club members today, and I believe we had near 100% albatross participation at that time (might have been a few short). Of the 26 that did not live in Iowa, at least 8 were not from a bordering state. In fact, we had two from California, at least 1 from Oklahoma, and 3 from Texas. I believe this is indicative of the fact that Des Moines, Iowa, has 1) an airport, and 2) the intersection of I-35 and I-80. It's easy to get to. Plus, since that outing, Des Moines now has Southwest airlines servicing it. There are an abundance of hotels and course choices, TCI and Harvester being some of the top courses in the area. We could even go crazy and move it to Davenport (quad cities, home of Hawk), and play at TPC Deere Run.
Kansas City is another place I would recommend. I believe it would draw similar numbers to Iowa, and is just as easy for travel purposes, and it may even be easier for travel purposes. I'll let others who know better than I discuss those courses. I would describe Kansas City as the "central hub" of the midwest.
Branson was awesome, and so were the courses. I think they have lost their Southwest service, but due to it's central location in the midwest, it is also easily accessible by car. Branson was also one of the most scenic set of courses I have ever played.
There you have it, my recommendations.

Im with you on Branson and Iowa as they stepped it up in the past and had solid attendance.
IMO KC is tough as they had a shot and totally whiffed
I've actually never played there, but it is definitely on my local bucket list.
Hmmmmm, I don't remember KC having an event, but no one ever accused me of having good memory.

Events with activity options for the golf widows (or widowers). Taking my spouse makes a trip a more realistic chance for me and I am sure others are in similar situations.
Mike was referring to having multiple events in their state and very few coming out to them.

I couldn't agree more, even if THP just pulled suggestions out of here to do their 2015 calendar it owuld be one amazing set of events, and to top it off, I have no doubt there are already some amazing things in the works that aren't even being talked about or suggested in here.Great suggestions in here.
Any locations in mind?
