What do you do for a living?

Work an insane amount of hours for a decent pay.... Train employees, do compliance audits and investigate employee theft over a large geographical area for a large retail drug chain.

I'm a merchant mariner. I work on a tanker. We haul 185,000bbls of cargo. Or 7.7 million gallons for those of you un familiar with barrels lol. My job includes loading and discharging the cargo, as well as maintenance while we are underway. Also navigation and making sure we don't hit stuff lol. I work 28 straight 12 hour days. Then I go home for 28 days. 6 Months of work isn't too bad. I work mainly in the gulf coast and eastern seaboard.

Don't know if I ever replied to this....I'm in sales. Specifically the in health and fitness industry but I will leave it at that.

I am happy to say I am no longer a wedding/studio photographer. I turned in my last set of memory cards last night after the wedding I shot.

In August I start a new chapter in my life as a photography teacher at a local community college.

Pretty exciting and I'm super happy to have normal hours and not work every weekend anymore!

Apologies if I've missed it, but I couldn't find a thread like this.

I always love these off-topic threads in an active community, you realise that although sharing a common interest, you have a fascinating, diverse range of people from all walks of life!

So what do my fellow golf-lovers do for a living?

I'm an accountant, working for a company that owns and operates the electricity network in a large area of the UK. My friends from across the pond may be familiar with PPL, well I work for their UK subsidiary.

My work is quite diverse, I look after a couple of different arms of the business including a helicopter power-line inspection unit!

What do you guys do to keep you in range balls?

I'm a Helicopter Engineer. Spent the first 14 years in the British Royal Navy. Whilst getting divorced I decided to resign and carry on my trade as a civilian. That was 13 years ago and I have never looked back. I do equal time on time off tours and have been doing this for the past 7 years. If I ever have to go back to a Mon - Fri job, it will be a big shock to my system :).

Teach high school social studies and coach varsity boy's basketball in NYC.

Recruiter for Robert Half.

Now that I graduated, I'm a microbiologist at the University of Texas I'm also working in my PhD in pathobiology

I am a Sr. Fraud Analyst in the Loss Prevention department of a major online retailer.

I also help coach both my little girls sports teams (pro bono) :) ~ less pay but more rewarding (hoping that at least one of them will fall for golf....)

I am a Compliance officer for one of the largest life insurance companies in the US based out of the Midwest. We cover 2/3 of Wisconsin and most of Upper Michigan so get to travel a lot (and play different golf courses along the way). Basically keep the Reps out of trouble with the various regulatory authorities.
