Thanks for the pics!

Looks like a blast. The course looks beautiful. I'm watching the weather channel right now and some nasty weather coming your direction, keep your heads down.

We had a great time yesterday. We actually played 36 at two of the most beautiful course around. I played gold from 11 am until 8:30 pm; cant beat that with 7 iron. Butternut Creek was a true mountain golf course and Old Union was a fantastic links style course. I had never played a links course and have to say I cant wait to play the next one. It was good seeing my old friends (one week now) TCalloway, SethO, UncleDaddy, and meeting GrayGolf, Tha Shanks, Bama, and everyone else that played. I commented to TC about how lucky we were to live in an area where last week we were playing at the THP Home Office meeting a great group of people and the very next weekend we were fortunate to be in Georgia doing the same thing with another great group. My only question is who where do we play next week? There must be a THP golf outing somewhere.

At Butternut I got to play with Gray and TC and had a great time. I quickly saw that I need to amp up my game. All three of us can really carve up a golf course. They do it by placing the ball exactly where they want, when they want with either draws or fades. I do it by the pothole size divots and zig-zag driving of the cart to my shot:act-up: TC was goaded (at least that is what he said; we think he was salivating at the opportunity) into going for a shot at #10 which was 303 to the pin over water. The guy in the clubhouse was looking on as were Gray and I when he stepped up to the tee box and hit this amazing shot that sailed over the water and landed softly on the green leaving him about a 80 foot putt. His put was equally impressive. He missed the cup by 3 inches and taps in for Birdie. Now, on the same hole Gray, who hit a great approach shot and dropped his second into the water, hit his third past the stick and was sitting on the back fringe. His putt was something we talked about for two or three more hole. He putted off the fringe about 40 feet away, hits the back of the cup, flops into the air and back into the cup to save par. And as he said "just like I planned it"

In the second round I got to play with Shanks and Bama. We had a fantatic time as well. The Old Union course was one of the prettiest courses I have played. Just a stunning links style layout. Shanks was playing a green Chromax ball the he was just nailing every shot with. We were on a par 5 that must have been 540 (I remember Bama telling us from the tips it was 704 yards). Shanks nailed his tee shot and then had about a 240 yard approach that he hit and the ball landed softly within about 12 feet of the hole. I thought, ok, well that was good shot, but he kept on doing these "great shots" all day. The trajectory of his shots is so high and consistent that I could take my shot and have my ball hit the ground and stop before his hit the green. He ultimately lost his neon green Chromax, so if anyone out there has any please send him one..that is unless you are playing with him because he will beat you down with it. :act-up:

I really enjoyed meeting Bama. He might vertically challenged (his words) but he is one accurate dude. He could hit out of the weeds better than anyone I had seen. His true skill is saving par from the fringe with his putter. I bet he did that four times during this round. I thought Gray Golf was good at this but Bama might just have him beat. One hole Shanks and I were talking and Bama says matter of factly, " if I hit this its a four/no putt, right?" which it was and he proceded to drain the dang thing time after time. He had some incredible no-putts in this round. His golf game is good...his cart driving skills are another thing. Being from Alabama they treat anything with a steering wheel as a NASCAR vehicle. :act-up:
So I am in traction today.

Much love to Gray and TC for putting this together and special thanks for their "contact" on both courses. We really received the royal treatment at both golf courses.

I just saw the wather channel too and it has some bad weather blowing in. Be careful guys. I checked my computer earlier and said clear skies until about 1 pm. Go figure.

these are awesome! you guys have plenty of room and time for some beer pong. someone needs to make a run for a pony and some plastic cups.

Thanks for the pics. Why do you all have to live so far away?

Looks like you guys are having a ball!!I am so looking forward to getting to a THP outing.

awesome pics guys keep em coming! enjoy!

Great pics guys!!! I talked to Gray this AM and he said he is having a wonderful time. Sure hope you get to play a round of golf today. Either way, looks like you will have a blast.

I corrected the course name to Old Union from Old Dominion in earlier post. It was Old Union we played yesterday. I must have been thinking about Old Dominion University for some reason.

You've just been hanging around Old Gray too much. When he called this morning, he referred to Butternut Creek as Hickory Creek.

LOL. Kellybo! He is a super guy and I look forward to playing with him again. I hope they are able to get in some playing today.

Looks like you guys are having a blast up north!

Re: Georgia Golf Outting Pictures

Nice pics boys! It looks like you guys are having a blast. One question, who brought Kris Allen?
