Midwest Golf Get Together THP Style

Wish we could tc, things are starting to really shape up for a fun time. Just hop on that private jet of yours and join us, hehe

lmao! i wish. i can't even afford coach. hell, i'm driving to florida for that outing. i have no doubts you'll have a great time and i also know that when you make that trek to augusta we'll catch up.

UPDATE:

Wow, what a crazy day. I'm setting up two golf outings at the same time along with my regular day job and my phone just won't quit. My brain is about to shut down, lol. Ok, I've been on the phone with both courses and every time I call them the time get's scooted a little. For those of you who are having trouble getting here, keep in mind that we'd still love to see you make it. We can still get you in to this, even in the last week, if you find out things work after all. A hugh thank you to those who have contacted me to lock this thing in, that really helps a ton. Here is what I have so far:

Midwest Golf Get Together
May 25th http://www.quarryoaks.com/sites/courses/view.asp?id=706&page=39155
Tee times starting at 8:50 AM
After the first round is done we can stay there or go else where for lunch and then Round two is after lunch I'll confirm those tee times.

May 26th http://www.golfironhorse.com/about3.htm
Tee times starting at 10:20 AM
Sorry, but am unable to get a second round here, but heck I'm game for hitting a third course if anyone's with me, lol.

There's a ton of options for us and you guy's just need to let me know what you think. Do we want to meet the night before for dinner and/or drinks? How about breakfast? Where's lunch between rounds and on day two? My list of players has gone through a windmill in spots, lol, but here's where I am so far. Keep in mind that my mind is almost lost, if I missed someone please contact me. If you just noticed this or suddenly can make it, by all means PM me.

Cwill
Puttin4Bird
Fwyngrus
Dakotagolfer
Sodakrep
Sodakrep's dad
Mo_Hacker
Smallville (we hope)
SnickerDoodles (and broken wing)
Dirt-Guy (can only make the first round)
Dustklose
TheDue

Beyond that, WhiteRhino and Thainer21 are mayby's so far. A few others have either shown interest or I just sent PM's trying to entice them into joining us. 2659Edward, Jeffann, KUGolfclubs KUJayhawks and graz have all been PM'd. If any one out there can get these guy's here it will just add to our fun. Anyone else interested? Bring it on! I may also bring a couple buddies and try to get them posting here. Toss out your idea's and as things get closer I will see if Smally can update the front page again.

I am definately in. I do not think my dad will be able to play his shoulders are causing havoc on him, he hasn't hit a ball yet this year.

Bring him along! I wouldn't think they would charge for him and we going to have a hoot out there. I bet he'd have a blast just listening to the banter, lol.

Just a quick bump for everyone and see if we have anyone new in the region who's interested in joining the fun. After hearing of all the fun at the other outings, I'm thinking we need to do so kind of BBQ or dinner get together. What's everyone think about this? Any of you guy's that live close by want to head this up? All we need is a big grill and a place to do it. We can put most of the food together there and some of us to bring side dishes, or we can get together at a restaurant. What say ye?

Also, any of you bringing a friend or several? Why not, let's make this a big one! Please post your thoughts everyone.

I've invited a friend, he was going to see if he can make it and get back to me, I'll update you on that once I get word from him. I agree that a grill out would be pretty fun, but rather difficult to put on someone since it'll be on a school night for most people, only THP type rock stars like us can party it up on a Tuesday night!!

I wish I could make it as I'm in Nebraska, but I've got Junior Achievement volunteering to do those days. Have fun!

Just let me know how it works for your friend. Should we have set this for the weekend? We can just go out to eat, at least who ever has a mind to, golf the next day won't be all that early. Too bad I don't have JB's clout and ability to get some things to demo, lol.

Too bad you can't join us IceyShanks. Good luck with the volunteering, sounds like fun.

This is coming up quickly, less than a month away. I just got off the phone with both courses and everything is set up as far as two rounds of golf on the 25th and one round on the 26th. I have confirmed that we can pay as we get to the Iron Horse Course on the 26th, however I may have to pay a deposit for the 25th outing at Quarry Oaks, Jury is still out, lol. (Should know tomorrow). I wish I could say that a few more fun things were all set up for everyone, but right now it's just looking like golf. Maybe Jake and Dano could do a live radio show on the course, lol.

Have any of you made reservations? I've check a little bit and am thinking I'll make mine at Hampton Inn & Suites in La Vista, NE. They have an online price if done at least 14 days ahead, but non-refundable, for $109 per night. That's more than I wanted to pay, but most others were around $85 to $90 and I know this place is nice. http://hamptoninn.hilton.com/en/hp/...ionid=WKFRMR5ILASEWCSGBJC3EWQ?ctyhocn=OMALVHX

The two courses are only about 8 miles apart and the motel is maybe 12 to 15 from there. Pretty easy driving in this area. If any questions please contact me so I can help everyone out. I really need to keep hearing from everyone and start getting a few more commitments. The list is just above a few threads, if there are changes please let me know. Also, anyone new out there and wants to play, we would love to hear from you.

The Midwest Golf Get Together THP Style... Life is good!!

You're doing a great job Duey, thanks for all your efforts! It is getting really close now, my month of May is super busy too so it'll be here before I know it!

Looking forward to seeing you Bird, as well as everyone else. Talking to the guys this A.M. they say the courses are in great shape. Quarry Oaks actually does a lot of weddings because of the spectaular views and photos I was told. Everyone bring a camera.

By the way, have fun on your Florida trip!

There is a BBQ place in Ashland called Parker's Smokehouse which I've heard is pretty good. Looks to be about 10 to 15 minutes away from Quarry Oaks and appears to have plenty of room for larger groups. That might be a good place for dinner after the Quarry Oaks rounds on the 25th, especially if some people are staying in Lincoln and others in Omaha. I think grabbing lunch at the clubhouse between rounds would be the simplest thing to do, and we wouldn't have to worry about rushing to get back for our afternoon tee time.

Duey, several of us had really good luck at getting some good hotel rates via Priceline bidding for the FL outing. If the area has only a few hotels, you may want to give that a shot since you can kind of tell what hotels it might be via the star ratings. Hope you all have a great time!!

Great call cwill, that sounds good to me as long as you can get a beer there, lol. Lunch at the clubhouse sounds like the way to go as well, that would give us more time to see each other and have some fun.

Thanks for the tip Ad. I'll have to play on here tonight and see what I can come up with. I hope your in the dry part of TN right now. Turn that car of yours West and head this way, we'd love to have you join us.

Just a reminder for everyone coming up. The casino boats are just across the line, maybe 30 minutes from where we play if anyone want's to indulge is some of those activities. I thought about staying there because the rooms are generally pretty nice and at a decent price. I just hate going to bed and hearing that "ding ding ding" in the back of my mind, lol.

Parker's is a great place to eat. Very nice BBQ! Have fun guys, you picked two excellent courses. I play both of them fairly often, usually when someone is getting married and we head out a day or two before the wedding. I'll tell you know, my favorite holes are the short par 4 17th at Iron Horse, the elevated tee is great. And the Par 3 15th at Quarry is very nice, an abandoned quarry is fun to hit over. Have fun guys, wish I could join. I hope they'll be another one of these get togethers around here.

Thanks Icey, wish you could make it. I'm sure we'll have another, not to mention that several of us can meet up there anytime. I think it's only about 2 1/2 or 3 hours for me and we have all summer. Let's do it!

Sounds good Due. I'm looking forward to it.

I think you mean elevated green right Icey? That hole is a bugger man, it can be so simple yet you just tend to over think it and do something stupid, those bunkers all along the left side are straight up killers too! Definitely a fun hole, I've had everything from eagle putts resulting in a short birdie to a big fat double bogey on that hole.

Yeah that's exactly what I mean, I must have been thinking of the 16th with the elevated tee, that's pretty crazy couple holes if you think about it. 16-high tee, 17-high green. Maybe it should just go from 16 tee to 17 green!!!

BIRD... what the hell have you gotten us into? lol. This is HACKERS PARADISE, not pro for a day, hehe. Notice how I'm already laying the blame on you?

Believe me, I've accidentally tried that with such a wicked push slice on 16 that I've actually gone to the 17th hole looking for my ball. NOT good!

Don't worry Due, the hole is actually only like 240 yds or something but it's just straight up a hill, par 4. It's not tough with a 3 or 5 wood in your hand and just pop one up there and chip on and you're set. You can blame me all you want around Iron Horse, you will actually end up loving it though I promise! If I hear, DAMMIT BIRD, I'll know you're not talking about the sparrows!

Sparrows? Hey man. I'm old enough to remember "The Birds", lol. I hit a five on a par three that was 167 today, lol. Sucker was into a heavy cross wind and ate my lunch. We could make one heck of a funny video just following me on the course. By the way, are we allowed "foot wedges" at this outing??

Always the most reliable club in the bag :)
