My hands are cracked and lips are blistering.....16 of 18 holes into the wind. And a tree farm?? Those trees provided zero protection! And Twin Lakes? Like lakes that are twins? May as well been have a damn ocean with the waves covering 87.3% of the course.

Guys will love and hate this course come spring. Big thanks for Phillip getting us the $27.50 round out there today!
 
Date Change

April 11th and 12th. Golf weekend on the edge of the piney woods east of Dallas.

Saturday morning round at Twin Lakes (Canton), Afternoon round at Garden Valley(Lindale-35min away). Overnight stay at Garden Valley
Sunday round at Pine Dunes(Frankston).

Things are filling up fast and I need to get the rooms reserved asap. We will stay at Garden Valley after we are though with the Saturday rounds. There are 4 cottages left at GV that sleep 4 @ $149.

Now is the time to decide if you would want to be a part of this. Figure the total cost for golf and lodging (Saturday night only) around $250. Some may want to consider staying at one of the hotels in Canton as that will be the first round location early Saturday morning. Please let me know asap if you can make it.

Phil I cant commit to this so far out yet. I am unsure how my schedules are going to play out at this point. I will definitely be keeping an eye on it as time goes on and hopefully I can make it.
 
Changed my mind on the staying--go ahead and sign me up for the overnight. After driving to San Antonio this weekend, I don't want to do 8 hours of driving in a weekend if I can help it. :)
 
I'm still in with the new date. Saturday only. No lodging needed.
 
Does anybody know of any lighted driving ranges, ideally in the Ft Worth / Arlington area?

Leonards in Ft Worth does. Dont know if they have them on this time of year though.

Leonards, Benbrook and Golf Center of Arlington are all lit.
 
Is Golf Center of Arlington still open? I went by there a few weeks ago in the evening and the gates were shut and the lights were off. Not sure if it was weather related or what, but when they advertise "heated lit driving range" and "open until 10pm" they'd still be open at 8pm on a chilly evening.

I just need a place to go hit balls after work while it's still getting dark early.

They are still open and have gone through an ownership change over the last 6 months. Can't speak to how late they are open but my guess is that when it starts to warm up they will stay open later.

Leonard's is open until 8pm. Lights will turn on at sunset. When DST kicks in, the closing time will change to 10pm.
 
Thanks guys.

I got my new clubs out to the range at Terra Verde yesterday and had a blast. I saw rain expected next weekend, so I need to find a place to hit after work this week.
 
PVGA Member/Guest scramble this w/e. Who's playing?

I will be there with a buddy of mine.

Judy sent out an email yesterday and said a member could play with a member. So, there are not excuses.....except for kids soccer games. :angel:
 
capt.dru and I are supposed to but will decide Thursday depending on weather. 45* with 95% rain doesn't sound very fun.

UGH. Hadn't seen the forecasts. F THAT!
 
Put me in. I already have mom set as my go to watch the kids for those time frames and hopefuly I have hit my quota for ear infections :D

I am going to set branson up for sometime in June as well. Working on condo's and deals at courses :)

If you have an interest in joining, put your name in as there is no commitment required at this time. I am trying to put all the pieces together and seeing how many would want to join in on the fun. Once a weekend is picked I understand it will not work for everyone and some on the list will not be able to make it. Two weekends that are not on the list are Easter and Memorial Day weekends. I will try and get a weekend picked as soon as I can. These course are really nice and during April/May they should be outstanding.

That's perfect. First weekend of march Pinehurst #2 with Lighting Bolt, then first part of April Golf with DFW buddies, Life is good :)
