I was messing around with my Swing Caddie SC100 and was seeing consistently faster swing speeds with my 5 wood and 4 hybrid than my driver. Am I the only one? Could it be a problem with the SC100 calculating swing speed or just an old fashioned swing flaw with the big dog?

I was getting average mid 90's with driver (which seems about right to me) with the occasional swing over 100, but the 5 wood and 4 hybrid were high 90's or over 100 almost every time.

I generally drive it about 230-240 including roll out with a decent driver swing, some longer some shorter. I hit the 5 wood (20*) about 200-215 and 4 hybrid (22*) 185-200 on the course. Does any of that make sense?

Thanks!

Does the SC100 actually record swing speed, or does it simply calculate it based on ball speed and a preset smash factor?

It is possible you load the shorter woods better than the driver.

Their website says it uses club head speed and ball speed to calculate smash factor.
