funny thing is, I've got a few of these on the way for my own covidian decline contribution.

I'll have to wear them to the course.

Kaymer must enjoy fishing like Boo..

there has to be something outside of the guy playing with just a putter, there had to be a bet laid.

i mean he played the "D" bracket which in my area guys in the D bracket shoot 110, actually that division is usually handicapped and they get strokes.
so did he play the whole 18 holes with a putter? maybe he did and he knew he could win, which in return is a slap in the face for the D bracket guys and not cool.
imo i thought the whole thing was bush league...

ahhhhh did he get pops to shoot the 84?

Great listen covering a lot of topics. I think the COVIDIAN tips for playing golf have just gone off course. Wash your hands and dont share stuff. I did have a buddy pick up a ball and toss it back to me. I feel like it was fine, caught it in the towel and wiped it off. We talked about not picking up random broken tees on par 3s. Which is crazy as tees are what like 10cents a piece yet always use a broken one.:unsure:o_O. Also the guy doesnt like buying balls and wanted me to pick up a random golf ball(I have tons so I didnt want it) he made a comment how it wasnt good enough for me. I said its all yours, free with a hefty dose of COVID.

Where should I send these?

that's what I like to call the golf being played with only a putter.

faux golf. May as well be a frisbee.

I thought it was called putt putt...

Playing a tournament with only a putter is not golf. It's a fool's game.

Would it be golf if it was only a 7 iron? PW? 4 hybrid?

Nah in my opinion it’s an insult to the game regardless of the club. Do it on your own time, not in a tournament.

What if the person only used 13 clubs? 2 clubs?

I thought that we were going to talk wrestling this week?

However many clubs it takes to give you the best opportunity to score and respect the competition.

can't wait to listen on the way home from work today. These are shaping up really well and certainly in my top 3 podcasts I listen to.

Well, that's fairly vague and since you're one that has expressed a sense of disrespect, I simply ask... how many clubs is required?

Thanks for saying that!

I think we're really hitting our stride.

I don’t think there’s an exact number, but less clubs equals worse gapping and less opportunity to score, so going in with fewer than 14 clubs shows you’re not taking it seriously. I’d say first off you need a putter and a driving club (wood). Additionally, at a minimum I’ll say a hybrid/long iron, mid iron, short iron, and wedge. So 6 minimum. But even then I’d say that’s too few, so probably add another hybrid, a couple irons and a wedge to the mix.

@Canadan and @HipCheck

Here is the overview of the course the "putter guy" played. I've not played this course, but know a few that have. there is not much elevation change so its rather flat and open course. there are some forced carries off the tee, but not after that. As for "brown out fairways" this is course is kept in ok condition, but remember this is Arizona and this year has been hot early so courses are rapidly falling out of prime season and transitioning to the summer bake out.

The high end course are watering enough that good golf still is out there, but this course is a casino resort course, so they could be really hurting for revenue during the Covid19 shutdown.

Maybe the guy had been having trouble with his irons and wedges (sh@nk!ng everything maybe) and it carried over to his confidence in his woods and hybrids, too. Maybe he felt that day, his best chance was to use the putter only.

if you bothered to read any of the articles about him, or listen to the podcast, you'd know this isn't true.
