NJ Golf courses are opening!!

A lot of NJ pub r walking so been hitting upstate NY and PA as well. At least they r giving carts. Hit or miss with golf scheduling apps. Better results directly off websites so far.

The outing was pushed back to early August...Playing Galloway, Hidden Creek twice. Hollywood, Hamilton Farm
You certainly have a few friends in high places in order to get in Galloway AND Hidden Creek.
Wow.... need a friend?

I'm a rater. The event is a rater retreat. My son is a member at Little Mill.

I rate for one of the Golf Mags...So I have ability to reach out to just about anywhere and ask to play.....Not all are welcoming but in last few years have gotten to many of the best of NJ as I combine with visit to son and fam....He's a rater too.

Ah then for NJ may I recommend trying

If you haven’t already.

That's a beautiful course. I wouldn't mind playing there

Yea I was thinking about starting a reciprocal group for NJ area this year but holding off now until this blows over. The NJ and surrounding areas of NY and PA have some really nice courses for the Northeast area. Fall is especially scenic here. :)

Good to hear. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Nick and I like a lot of things GG teaches due to some back and shoulder issues. Been thinking of trying to get down to see him for a few lessons if I ever find the time.

speaking of lessons, hes got a 3-lesson package up for auction right now

Very tempting to bid on. Unfortunately with me gradually going back to work, I’m unsure if I’d be able to find the time when things are starting to get back to normal.

Oh, that would be cool!

That is one fabulous list of opportunities to play....So 2 years ago I went to SHCC and was able to take my son as guest. Fee was $300 for him. The listing with Rox and SHCC is actually cheap....SHCC normally goes for 3k by itself...If anyone interested I'd be game for doing that deal at 3k or less or 750 a guy...

I appreciate you thinking of me, but if I told my wife I am going to NJ, she would literally kick me out of the house. She’s debating whether to go to a close family member’s wedding in NJ in November.

I saw the state is allowing foursomes starting the 22nd, ranges allowed to open as well.

This is awesome news!
I have not been able to practice the driver and woods.... very rusty

Played this am and returned intent to look/bid on a 4some for the SHCC and Rox only to see it was colosed….Dumb timing....That one was the best deal...Played Liberty last year...Very over rated...Bayonne nicer...Good luck to all the NJ golfers....Hope to see ya out there.

NJ National by Rox also. I usually try to hit both in that area. They r both good courses.

I assume you’ve played Ridgewood. If not look into it.

Northern NJ I like Edgewood CC. Hackensack nice also. Ridgewood a staple (sometimes play right before Northern Trust), Arcola decent. White Beeches decent.

Good mountain golf in northern NJ/upstate NY also. Mountain on the Ridge (only Jack Nicholson signature in NY), Patriot Hills - NY over NJ border courses. Best public IMO for NJ and a Muni at that is Berkshire Valley out north west NJ. Must play imo. Out there also is Skyview. Another mountain golf type course.

Jump across the bridge and Westchester CC nice track.

Central. Forsgate Banks Course is interesting. Similar to Skytop. All the greens r on steep banks. Play short or your chopping. Pub central west I like Heron Glen and Neshanic Valley. Decent tracks.

South like Metedeconk and Ballymoor. Going try Knob Hill this week.

I'd say that's a lot of info. Thanks. Best public in NJ in my mind is ACCC.....Have a group who goes to AC area every fall. Our standard rotation is ACCC, Twisted Dune, Ballamor and Shoregate. Without a doubt the AC area offers a fabulous rotation of publics for big groups...We go with 8 mostly but 12 a few times. I've been fortunate to play close to 100 courses in NJ. Predominantly, if it's worth playing I've found a way to make that happen.

Yea if your in the Southern NJ area those are a good list although personally I think accc is kludgy with the revamped later holes vs the traditional original ones. Also food at accc is ok. Better restaurants at the casinos imo. I’m sure many a body dumped in the swamps off that course back in the day :)

Personally Berkshire the best pub. If u get up there worth checking out.

Some snaps I took of various so u get an idea.

Forsgate Banks

Architects

NJ National

Mansion on the Ridge

Patriot Hills

Skyview

Berkshire Valley

Heron Glen

Ace Club (PA but close to southern NJ)

Going to be interesting to see if weddings will be allowed any time soon. I believe I heard governor say no large gatherings until vaccine.

Dude it’s been something to watch from a far. It’s crazy. The wedding is black tie, very fancy. It’s supposed to be 200 people. I say that there is no chance it happens in November.

I have 3 weddings to go to in November at NJ venues, and from my contact with those brides/grooms they are under the impression (from their vendors and venues) that the chance the weddings occur this year are slim to none.
