THP is the nicest forum I have ever seen. The vast majority of people are well mannered and polite. Some other forums can get seriously nasty. Truck on over to Reddit for an example.

Il keep it short. I play poker for a living and someone at game had it. I'm a big guy and always warm and was freezing. The tell tell sign between flu and Civic is your taste buds. I ate chefs favorite food and it tasted awful. For 5 days I sat home drinking fluids with temp fluctuations between 98-101. On may 20, 9 days after first symptoms I had 104 and couldn't breathe. That's when I went to hospital. So many things I could say but they put me on Resdesivir which is drug they've been having success wit. 5 day IV plus other drugs and on oxygen. I'll answer anything
Did anybody else at the game get it? Or was it at a casino that you weren’t familiar with the other players?

Just curious, how old are you?

I know of 11 people who've had it,and recovered. I got the worst,Case. Private games. When casinos open back up,it's gonna be nasty

Any chance they checked your vitamin D levels when you checked in and before starting treatments? Just curious.

Glad you’re on the road to recovery. Curious if you have high blood pressure and/or diabetes. I understand meds for these issues can create treatment challenges for Covid-19.

I used to have high blood pressure but not in years. They checked my blood pressure religiously while there

But I think the heavy sanitization mid-week is what they are going for - not parental convenience.

I totally agree, but I also agree that 4 day week is easier on the parents if a Monday or Friday. I’m curious how our school will handle this as we are looking for a new superintendent right now.

I'm home from hospital where I almost died of the virus that I contracted on May 12. If anyone has any questions I'd be happy to answer them. I made a long post on FB that is public under Russell Floyd (profile pic is Kobe Bryant and daughter) as well
Good read, thanks for sharing. Couple of questions, if you don’t mind. How old are you? Immune deficiencies? How long before you started feeling better after they started you on R? Did you/they consider Hydroxichloroquine? Congrats on the recovery.

Married to a teacher, there are a ton of issues being discussed. First, there is a cleaner that can be applied that kills the virus for 6-12 months. One of the bigger questions is what to do if someone in the school gets the virus. How do they deal with the teacher and students? There is talk abou kids going in for 2 days and 2 days online. Whole class those 4 days but half attend and half participate online. The reason for that is the amount of space needed if the 6’ halo remains. If you do the math that equates to ~113 sqft per person to maintain that. The other day would be teacher prep. Creating the plans to teach this way. There are a Ton of issues to consider. Kids with slow or no internet, What do parents who rely on school to “babysit” do? How do you keep kids engaged with being home and online? Its way bigger than what i put here with a ton more issues. But these are some of the bigger ones. Now, add the kids on IDP’s and the law regarding those and the wrench is pretty big.

"While millions of people are reported to have recovered from COVID-19, we are still learning about the recovery process and long term affects that some may experience," Maria Van Kerkhove, who heads the World Health Organization's research into the disease, told The Hill in an email. "Experience shows us that most people who have had COVID-19 will make a full recovery, especially among those who had mild or moderate (pneumonia without needing respiratory support) disease."

"Based on limited available evidence and the shared experience from the general critical care population around the world, however, we expect that those patients with severe or critical COVID-19 who required acute interventions during their care, including mechanical ventilation, sedation and/or prolonged bed rest, may experience a range of impairments, including, physical deconditioning, respiratory, swallow, cognitive and mental health impairments," Van Kerkhove wrote.

Unlike some I don’t report posts because I don’t get triggered. You do you...

But if you are going to flame me, do better...
I used to report posts man. It seems a minority of people at the extremes, either people at the President's throat or caught up in his underwear, can't help themselves from moving this purposefully towards political commentary. You see posts with stats that when asked what the relevancy was could not be expounded upon because the message itself was political in nature. But some of that is allowed and some isn't so it really doesn't make sense to report, as we all have a different compass as to what constitutes overly-political commentary. It's clearly a subjective argument, which is understandable.

Can we go back to last week when it was racist & selfish to protest against the lock down because we were spreading the virus and we didn't care about lives?

To be fair, the mayor of Minneapolis recently tweeted that “white supremacists” were behind the riots so they’re working on it.

No surprise there, but I doubt it will get broad reporting as it goes against the narrative.
What point are you trying to make? Over 100,000 in the US are dead from this, which would have been multiples more if not for the shutdown.

Glad to hear you pulled through.
This is an example why casinos and similar businesses should not reopen until a vaccine is widespread.

Curious to see if the MSM applies as much energy in covering COVID-19 with the rioters, looters & protestors as they did with law abiding activities during the Memorial Day weekend.

If Minneapolis doesn't have a significant spike in Covid-19 cases within two weeks, then it's a great sign for gatherings in the near future (i.e. sports!),

I love your optimism ;) If there is a significant spike the media will likely paint them as victims, not villains, then use it as an example of why haircuts should be remain illegal.

You figured out the MSM playbook!!! Nice.

Inflated numbers were used to justify a lockdown to begin with.

Our church opened up today. Lots of precautions, but feels good to be back.
