TaylorMade Releases P7MB, P7MC and P770 Irons

MC/MB set would be pretty nice to put these new Onyx Elevate Tour X100’s in.....
Can’t wait to see the pics!

I hate that I'm less excited about this lineup the more I look at and learn about them. Really love the look of the 770 and MBs, but seems more and more likely I won't be able to find a way to incorporate the 770s, and I don't like the lack of visual continuity between an MC and MB combo. Makes me sad. Still excited to hit them though when they get them near me or I take a drive up to the fitting center. I'd probably play a full MC set despite not loving the look.

Just got the shipping notice for my 770/7 CB combo set.

Well it’s a good day when you receive the call saying that your clubs are in! I just picked up my P770 4-PW and they are absolutely stunning in person. I currently play the P760s and really liked them and carded some of my best rounds last year but couldn’t pass on these. They are solid and sound and feel great. Time will tell if I can hit new lows but so far I’m happy. I have a sim at home and spent the past few days logging data on the 760s so I will soon know how these compare. I’m looking for a bit more forgiveness (for those early morning rounds), a bit more distance and higher flight. I’ll post more later.

swapping my 919tours to try 770/MC combo. estimated delivery is tomorrow. but not sure if i'll be playing due to the smoke all across norcal

TaylorMade have the best irons on the market now with this lineup. I've played the P790's for 20 rounds. They are hands down better than my Apex's. Can't wait to play these new irons and will start with our Club Championship in 3 weeks.

I hit the 770’s yesterday during my fitting. The ended up runner up. That’s not a bad thing at all. Second best ball speed out of clubs tried and I prefer the soft feel they have. They don’t feel so soft when I missed but the drop off was minimal. Great head and over all they would not get me out of my current club but they were right there with it. Did I mention they look phenomenal?

Tried the p770s. 7 iron with KBS Tour X and tp5x.

Very impressed. Easy launch with quite a bit of forgiveness. Profile reminded me of the HMB. Feel was pretty good. Would describe it as solid. I could see this being pretty popular.

Spin numbers were solid, launch was high, and ball speed was pretty good. Considering the ball that was used, spin was higher than expected. These are not low spin cannons like the p790s.

Took this pic of the soles of the MC’s and MB’s side by side...

Fitter at a local club said the 770s are absolutely flying off the "shelves" with pre-orders. I haven't hit them yet but at least compared to HMB I think they are way better looking at address.

I got mine late last night. So I did the responsible thing, and took them out to play Bethpage this morning (Shot 76 with 3 doubles..lol). I got the P770 in 4-7 iron and P 7CB in 8-W. I got them with Nippon Modus 120 X's in them. Just a heads up TM measures differently that Callaway, titleist and Srixon, so their stock length is 1/4" shorter than those manufacturers. I have played Srixon Combo set of Z585 and Z785 (4-6 585, 7-P 785), with same Modus, I play my clubs 1/4" long, so I ordered the TM clubs a 1/2" long and they are the same length as my Srixons.

The P-7CB.770's feel great, the P7CB felt as good as my Srixons (which I feel are among the best feeling forged clubs), and pleasantly surprised by how good the P770's feel. The feel so much better than the 790's, and even better than my z585's.

Here are some pics, and a side by side comparison (7 irons)of offset and how similar the toplines are. The P770 on the left and Z785 on the right.

can you snag a pic at address with the 770 7i next to the 7mc 8i? i’m curious to see how they blend from one to the other. bonus points for a pic of the sole of each.

Man, That pic of the full set of 770’s and MC’s combos blends beautifully!

I need to see the P770 scoring irons and if they look good from address I will be ordering a set

Here is a chart to help with Combo set lofts, and how to order them. I ended up ordering my P7CB 1* strong, to match the lofts of the P770 in the longer irons. The chart below suggests som,e other variations, but the MB and Cb both have 47* PW, while the P770 is 46*.

I would agree. The 770 definitely has a shorter blade length and a slightly thinner top line. 770 just looks a little more compact at address, imo.

Looks like the TM's will be clubs of the year.

i don’t know, while it a a solid lineup, Mizuno’s new release is getting good feedback early as well. But I would say this is TM’s best iron release in a LONG time
