Tour Edge Hot Launch 521 Extreme and Competition Series

Is Tour Edge going to offer the custom shaft lengths and grip size options too?
They did when I ordered my clubs.

And I was just telling myself that I shouldn't mess with my equipment since I've been steadily improving.......

The pricing is going to make some competitors R&D folks use some bad language.

The hybrid irons look interesting. A bit like Cleveland HB3's and Launchpad combo.

I hope the tech in these seriously rival the Mavrik, Bertha, Cobra, etc... if so, at this price point they should sell a crap load of them. I’ve been looking at possibly replacing my 2016 M2 for a while (been so good nothing has knocked it out of the bag yet) and may be glad I held out

I've been a fan of the Exotics line for a number of years, primarily in the 3W spot, but the PROh irons are great too.

Great write-up. Local shop carries TE/TEE and if the smoke ever clears up I'll demo both lines.

My wife is in the market for new clubs. These just may be in the running.

$230 is crazy for a driver from a known OEM. There looks like a lot of bang for your buck here and the sole reminds me of the old XRail line of clubs. Plus some very good shaft choices that will work well for most of us stiffs.

Looking through this one again and it’s a nice piece @JB !

I need to hit these!

These are clubs I would definitely like to hit. The name is a mouthful and I swear it says "Hot Lunch" every time I see if but TE is bringing the heat with these releases.

I am excited to see the hybrids and iron-woods as well. I currently have HL4 iron-woods in my bag and may add a 521 to the mix.

Hybrid thread is up now

I can honestly say I need to give this entire set of clubs a look, maybe a combination of C and E clubs, but I cannot wait to try them, a full set from Driver to LW might just be the kick in my pants my golf game needs

i may give the E521 a go...if for no other reason than to have a 2nd driver

Got to see these in hand the other day. Nice to see my local shop having them in stock ready as sometimes these late season releases especially from Tour Edge lag in getting here over the years. No demos though yet 😞

the E series has noticeable offset on the irons, hybrids and fairways and a closed face on the driver. The C series sat more neutral with more classic looks.

anyone going for the C series you might want to flex up. The rogue in 60S on a waggle test felt similar to most R flexes out there. Didn’t swing it though. So YMMV

Nice pics. Thanks. As to the shaft, Tour Edge (and everyone else) has a history of made for shafts - the biggest one I experienced with TEE was the copy of the DI-5 shaft in the EX10 clubs - I bought regular and needed a stiff. But R flex fit my 12 yr old perfectly at the time.

By the way, the EXS 220 fwys are excellent. Ballspeeds are high. Just ordered the 5 wood. The hybrid is working well, too. They just go farther as the swing improves :)

erock, thanks, for the pics. It seems a combo set (e for the 3,4, 5, 6, 7 and c 8,9,w) on the irons would make sense. I always found the 8,9,w were a weakness in the hybrid irons. Too clunky.

If I were in the market for new clubs right now, I'd be trying these out ASAP. Who knows, I may talk myself into it by spring...

Would love to try a 2 hybrid 17* in the E series.
but it may appear they do not offer it. Anybody know?

Nope, 3-19* hybrid and 3 20* in iron wood is the lowest loft in the E series.

Tour Edge has always made very competitive products and much better prices. They are definitely moving in the right direction. I like this move a lot

The Houdini sole is interesting!

J.B. Thanks, for sharing. How do these compare to the HB Turbo irons? Do they look ok, meaning do they scream high handicapper or look good?
I believe they are aimed at the same market. The Hot Launch definitely screams super game improvement and high HC, where the Cleveland Turbo line up tries to mask the SGI look.

I need some Houdini sole in my life....

This just happened today:

My old trusty Xrail 5h has been acting up after about 5 years in the bag.
Time to see if one of these can knock it out.
