That might be the lowest proof Maker's Mark selection I've seen. I think all of the ones I have are between mid 108 and upper 110 proof. Ohio just released 6 selections across the state and I just picked up all of them. Planning to open them up this weekend for a side by side.

I have a few for the Maker's Private Selects and special releases. I love them all.

They are all so unique. I like the concept of them. I have 20 different ones and they are all so different. Some I enjoy better than others but i certainly don't hate any of them.

You should be in fine shape after THAT weekend! :D

Found some more 1792 full proof today. Man it's good.

Today's haul! Love the McKenna 10. It's one of my favorites. Big fan of OF 1920 and 1910 but have never had the Statesman so excited to try it. I've never had the Old Ezra 7 either so looking forward to some new tastes this weekend :D

Received a bottle of Aberlour A'Bunadh from my wife for my birthday this past week and she's hinted that something else is enroute. Have heard really good things about the A'Bunadh (cask strength sherry bomb, allegedly) so I'm really excited to try it...and the incoming mystery bottle!

Finishing off the last of the Glendronach 15... Sad day but there is Aberlour to be had soon!

Got a bottle of Buffalo Trace with my name all over it once I feed and put my daughter to bed.

Had a little Buffalo Trace last night

I'm not a big whiskey fan or drink much at all, but while in Japan, I went to the Yamazaki Distillery. Great experience. It was like a museum for the Suntory whisky brands (Yamazaki, Hibiki, Hakushu, etc). It was $16 for some pretty good whiskey samples (Hakushu 18 year, Yamazaki 18 year, Hibiki 21 year) which is a deal. It would normally cost $46 for those three 15ml samples if you bought the bottles yourself. If you go to some of the beer distillery tours in Japan (Suntory, Yebisu, Sapporo), some are free tours or nominal fee with a few beer samples are included and the beer samples are usually full 12oz beers. 😄

Got into some of this Barrel over the weekend. Both were good but the Dovetail was pretty spectacular.

Tried this and Woodford Double Oaked tonight. Man. The Woodford was good!!

Was cleaning the liquor cabinet (s). Looking to add to my infinity bottle and make some space. So, my corny bourbon collection. The Makers triplets are from my visit top stamped 2018. 547B6B08-B39A-4B4B-8FBB-1426831BD4F7.jpegA2899B2A-2808-4A9F-B791-31EA0722AB81.jpegD4B71E4F-1D67-4A57-B14E-3E0B5CAC2449.jpeg3CD3C66A-37AA-45FE-9BE2-358D67C4883A.jpeg67513E73-26BF-4B4F-91D0-E496002132C5.jpeg6CA23B75-9554-43FF-84D5-8D3842E21B5F.jpeg973E3A55-436A-4831-AD90-BE859254B672.jpeg
And the Buffalo trace my daughter brings home from New Orleans when she’s visits. She’s daddy’s girl, bourbon lover.

edit: not shown half bottle of blantons saved for special occasions.

I have a bottle of that and it is definitely quite different than the other scotches I'm used to. Not a ton of cask strength scotch is on the market but I liked it. I opened my bottle in a side by side tasting with GlenDronach 12 and 15.

Florida Straight sounds dangerous...

How is the Old Forester Statesman? I was recommended some of that. Also Evan Williams Single Barrel is some of the best bourbon for the price.

I like it, i think it’s s bit sharper than some of their other products. I drink most bourbon meat neat so that may or may not be a good compass.

i agree, the Evan Williams is one of the best bang for the buck. It’s dangerous though since it’s so smooth.

Oh nice. There used to be a distillery in Colorado that made a Black Walnut Liqueur, Dancing Pines. I would use it in a black walnut Manhattan with those same bitters.
You should find a bottle of Nocino made here in Columbus by Watershed distillery. They also have a barrel aged version that they age in their bourbon barrels. I know not a lot of people make this but I think Watershed is considered then best and most well known USA made Nocino.
