riverbank is eroding at an alarming rate, a couple feet per week, river levels are still multiple feet above typical


there used to be a field here, now it's river and piles of trees

nice cold morning

going the back route to the Ranger Run slide, muck boots required


big logjam and rock pileup from the flood, a good 20 feet high


old trail becomes a new stream


this salmon went the wrong way and got trapped


a few salmon went up a dead end creek, most ended up exposed in too shallow water or trapped in net-like vegetation debris


this guy was still kicking so I took him out to deeper water so he could hopefully find a different way up

A rare December day when the ice was thick enough to walk on and not yet covered in snow. There were some ice fisherman out on the lake enjoying the beautiful sunny day. My wife and I took a walk on the ice down to the resort next to us where they actually had a wedding last night along with horse drawn carriage rides for the guests. Friday we head to Florida through the New Year for a dramatic change in weather.
