In for review to the land where the wind comes sweeping down the plains is a bit of an interesting one.

Two Thumb Putter Grips.

Who? Well I'm about to tell you.

The reason you may not have heard of this company is it is a UK based operation, oh, and they have been selling their grips for over a decade, and with some professionals using their products, it is time to begin a push into the US market. THP received FOUR of their grips in for review, and in hand photos will be inserted into this post and a subsequent one, once they are finished. For now, stock images:

THE ORIGINAL
new-original-2019-web_800x696_72.jpg

Made from our Tour Velvet compound. The heaviest of the series at 190g, designed specifically for those who like to feel the security of a maximum size, high quality grip in their hands. The grip is suited well to heavier putter heads where it will counter balance the head weight.

BIG DADDY LIGHT
bigdaddylightblackorange_540x470.jpg

At 67g our latest Big Daddy Light grip uses our latest dual texture ‘ultra-tac’ polyurethane grip wrap and is the same weight as a standard putter grip - so it retains the same weight balance and feel as your current putter grip.

SNUG DADDY 27

The Snug Daddy proves to be a hugely successful choice amongst tour professionals around the world.....

  • Parallel Design for those with smaller hands
  • Ultra Lightweight 40 grms
  • Suits golfers used to a normal sized putter grip
  • As used by Holly Aitchinson - Ladies European Tour professional

SNUG DADDY 30
snugdaddy30blue-mockup.jpg

Designed in 2015 following the success of the Snug Daddy series across the world.....

  • Parallel Design for those with medium sized hands
  • Extended length for extended handle anchor type putter shafts
  • Ultra Lightweight 60 grams
  • Suits golfers used to a normal sized putter grip
  • As used by Bernd Wiesberger - European Tour professional

About the Company:
Two Thumb Grip is a British company specialising in the design and manufacturing of a unique and innovative range of putter grips. We are based near London in England and our grips have been sold all over the world for over 10 years. Putting is the single most important skill in golf and it is our passion. The connection point or contact area between the player and the putter (the grip) is of critical importance and this is where our innovative and patented designs make a real difference to players of all levels. From the Original TwoThumb grips and putting system right through to the 'Snug' technology – we are leading thinkers in putting grip innovation.

To be plain and simple, the goal here is to remove wrist break in putting, hence the WIDE paddle front of the "Original" and "Big Daddy Light" while also realizing that shape doesn't fit everyone's desired when putting and making way for the "Snug Daddy" offerings. With the exception of the Original, the other three are polyurethane double wraps outside of a lightweight EVA core (think similar to SuperStroke) and that leads me to some initial durability questions I definitely want to try and figure out and answer during my review.

Yes, the names are....different...but the adoption they have seen on the Euro Tour's is real and with that, there is in my case some genuine curiosity.

Interesting-- don't hate the look, don't love it either. Looking forward to your thoughts sir.

I have been messing with one of these and really like it.
Although Snug Daddy sounds like something I would hear on SVU

Give me the Big Daddy....wait.....

Seriously though, naming aside, it makes sense. I think the Snug versions will appeal to way more and I'm going to try to better capture the shape than what the companies stock photos do. The wider paddle with the harder edges is nice.

It being Poly is potentially a wear issue, but, at least they're smart enough to not make theirs white.

Will be interested to hear your thoughts on the 190g grip. That seems incredibly heavy. I used to use a superstroke counterweight, but it was nowhere near 190g. I don't mind the looks. They do look like a nice quality grip.

Like the look of the SnugDaddy, but will need to see a shot from the top to see depth.

Looking forward to the reviews.

SnugDaddy sounds rather funny. Boy has the aftermarket putter grip market exploded. Don't mind the looks, which surprises me TBH. Gives me some flashbacks to when KJ Choi first was using the SuperStroke grips.

Interesting. I always wondered what Bernd was putting with. The Snug 30 is the only one that sound logical for me to try, and I do get the benefits of what two thumbs are going for.

At first I was like "Ugh, no way"

As I read though, I can't help but be curious. Only criticism in pics is that I don't think the exceptionally massive writing is all that tasteful.

What kind of hand positioning are you supposed to use with this? Seems like a natural promotion for "Two Gloves Gainey"!?

They want nothing to do with that trainwreck.

I agree, but, its the same argument presented often with SuperStroke, its all about branding and being visible more than being tasteful.

I'll add, I putt with a prayer grip, so it works well there providing ample thumb placement position.

Have heard of these but have not ever seen them. Definitely interested in the reviews.

Going to try to get all four installed on putters in the next couple days to give not only the in hand pics I'm taking on the photo table but also some in hand and at address pics.

I've used both a P2 grip and am currently using a FlatCat and could see giving one of the smaller versions a try. I love seeing new options come out to give SuperStroke a bit of a challenge.

Looking forward to the installed photos....

Sounds like something PXG would cook up ... since they have a wedge named "Sugar Daddy." Wow.

Huh. Interesting design. Definitely need to see this at address.

If the naming alone doesn't get you to chuckle, something is wrong. I myself typically like a bigger grip on my putter. Can't wait to hear @Jman thoughts on these!

Very interesting. If they are anything like the Frontline putter grips, I think would need to try them out.

I had a Two Thumb years ago when I first started messing around with putter grips. I liked it, it was different, and thought it really helped me get a pendulum stroke going with the putter.

What I didn't like though? The size of it. By far the widest grip I had ever had on a club, and I could barely get it in/out of the bag without it catching.

The idea is that this shape promotes/requires a technique of both thumbs to lay flat/square , side-by-side to each other at the top of the grip?
